Can we live at the Esmeralda?Posted Oct 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
My new wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we didn't ever want to leave. The rooms were lovely, the bed really comfortable, the breakfast was incredible, and the staff were kind and attentive. We will DEFINITELY be going back and recommend it to all.

How can you go wrong?!Posted Oct 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
Extremely clean, staff available at moments notice, simplicity in the room with extra amenities and games that make time there enjoyable even for the kids! I loved the dip in the Jacuzzi with the amazing views all around. Definitely a fantastic stay that we will return to every time we are in the area.

Great place for peace and quietPosted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: The old world atmosphere
Cons: Nothing as far as we know
Location: Just a lovely location for a relaxing holiday. Asheville is a great place to visit and see different artist at work
A great experience. Lovely comfortable beds. Good food. We will be back.

Did Not Live Up to ExpectationsPosted Jun 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
We booked a night at Esmeralda anticipating a romantic getaway. This place was really nothing special. Our room looked out over a parking lot despite being advertised as "mountain view." The room looked like something from a 1970s hotel, complete with glue together wood furniture and a small bathroom. The on site restaurant was far too pricey for the food. Menu was limited and dinner was decent. Very overpriced breakfast. We wound up eating breakfast at a great little cafe (Genny's) down the road near the Chimney Rock entrance. I would not recomment Esmerelda to others.

It's all about Chimney RockPosted May 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is one of the most salubrious hotels in the Chimney Rock area, but on Memorial Day Weekend, the hot tub was closed before 10pm (we raced back to get there in time and it was CLOSED!), this was the Sunday night of the kickstarter weekend of the summer, and the open fire which had regaled us the night before was also shut off. The hotel was completely quiet and was a total damp squib. The room itself was basically alright. The lobby is impressive when you arrive but the beds are not the most comfortable and it's not that much of anything really. The cheap motel down the road is probably a better deal when it comes right down to it, because you're in the vicinity of Chimney Rock Park, which is the whole entire point of being there. Not customer service oriented.

The ambiance is so quaint, beautiful views of the Hickory Nut Gorge. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Looking forward to our next visit
