Amazing and beautiful locationPosted Jun 30, 2015
Will be back and recommend to all my friends... Central air would be nice instead of the loud unit but it did keep the room very cool for June !! Staff and owners were awesome! Breakfast was 5 star !! View was even better !!

Tiny, tiny, tiny room!Posted Apr 17, 2015
Pros: Small and quiet.
Cons: size of the queen rooms and the rate is too high for the size of the room.
Location: not much. it's in the middle if nowhere.
To start with the positive...the property is nice. The staff was FANTASTIC! The cookies were outstanding! The reason I said I wouldn't recommend this hotel is only because of the size of the queen bed room we had. The room is 188 square feet. There are no chairs in the room to sit in so everything thing you do has to be done sitting on the bed. My wife and I were on a weekend trip taking it easy. We were out during the day but at 8:00 pm or so we wanted to spend some quiet time in our room relaxing. No way to do this in the queen room with no chairs. Yes, there were rocking chairs outside on the 1st and 2nd floor but pollen was everywhere and you couldn't sit down without getting it all over you. Sure, the 2nd floor had a game room and seating but we wanted some peace and quiet in our room. Can't do that in the queen room. In addition, $250 per night is WAY too high for this room. I feel like I paid double what I should. It was quiet outside and with only 14 rooms there weren't a lot of people making noise inside the Inn. Even still, all the positives don't outweigh the negatives for us and because of that we wouldn't stay here again unless...the larger room was available and the rates were considerably less.

Perfect hotel in the mountainsPosted Apr 13, 2015
This was hands down the best hotel I've stayed in. You couldn't ask for anything more: wonderful staff, all the amenities you could think of, gorgeous location, delicious food... You felt comfortable, right at home and part of their family. We will definitely be back soon!

Weekend without ChildrenPosted Mar 31, 2015 on Hotels
We enjoyed our stay at the Esmeralda. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was quite nice. The bed was a little soft for my taste, but that's just me. The complimentary breakfast on the weekend was very nice. One downside was that the only computer available to confirm our flight home was the one at the front desk. Fortunately, the desk clerk allowed me to use it during a slow period. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Incredibly cozy and warm and welcoming experience!Posted Jan 23, 2015 on Hotels
Our stay at the Esmeralda was OUTSTANDING! The place is the most immaculate and clean hotel/inn that I have ever been to. The small and personable staff are all incredibly gracious and accommodating in every way needed. The views from the inn are breathtaking and the porches are very inviting and comfortable. The Inn is very close to the center of Chimney Rock where there are shops and restaurants and the entrance to the state park is. That is very convenient, and Lake Lure is right past the town of Chimney Rock, which only takes a few minutes from the Inn as well. Breakfast came with the room, and we have never had such beautiful and delightful breakfasts anywhere in our travels that came with the room. So much TLC went into the preparation and presentation, and the dining room couldn't be any cozier with gentle background music and stunning views! Dinner at the Esmeralda was also an excellent experience, as it is apparent that no matter what meal you eat there, expertise and TLC and generosity go into the servings, the taste, and the presentation! The owners of the Inn are fairly new, and it is very clear that they truly want to ensure maximum contentment when you stay there, and that they take NO shortcuts in making sure that the Inn has the finest of EVERYTHING for the guests. They are so dedicated and passionate about their property and the guests' experiences. They are absolutely delightful! Cannot wait to go back!!

My new wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we didn't ever want to leave. The rooms were lovely, the bed really comfortable, the breakfast was incredible, and the staff were kind and attentive. We will DEFINITELY be going back and recommend it to all.

Extremely clean, staff available at moments notice, simplicity in the room with extra amenities and games that make time there enjoyable even for the kids! I loved the dip in the Jacuzzi with the amazing views all around. Definitely a fantastic stay that we will return to every time we are in the area.
