Friendly Place and Close to TownPosted Feb 8, 2015
Pros: It's small kitchen and organization of the room.
Cons: The carpeting.
Location: It's in walking distance to the City Center and park.
The staff could not be nicer and were very accommodating. They went out of their way to address any questions and provide any help I needed. The room was clean except the carpets were not in the best condition. Shoes a must!

Kitschy charmPosted Dec 21, 2014
Such a cute motel with real kitschy charm. Everything is very clean, if not a bit outdated with an overall musty smell (like your grandparent's house). Comfortable and firm beds with crisp linen in a central and peaceful area. Would recommend for families or anyone looking for somewhere adorable and unique to stay

Comfy and spaciousPosted Oct 27, 2014
It's just like staying at home! The layout of 741 is great., nice place to stay after a really exhausting day out in christchurch. Would prefer to be provided with bar soap, toothbrush & toothpaste though.

Great option for overnight stayPosted Sep 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
We only needed a place to crash for the night at the beginning of our trip, but this was a great place to get a good nights' sleep. In fact, we slept peacefully for 12 hours. The room is well maintained and had everything we needed to make breakfast in the morning. The only odd thing is that the hot water ran out and there we're onto 2 of us.

DisappointedPosted Sep 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent location and access to city and surrounds. Room was comfortable although dark wood made it dingy. I travel a lot and the bed here was sooooo comfortable. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Wifi was terrible - had to attend reception on several occasions because of it and in the end gave up. At this point in time I would not recommend and I would not return, the reason being the gentleman I dealt with mainly at reception was unfriendly and his English was bad - he had difficulty understanding me and I found it extremely difficult understanding him. I saw him several times around the complex and there was no friendliness at all and I felt this was not conducive with tourism which is unfortunate. People who rang the motor lodge for me were told to hang up and ring another number directly to my room which I found odd and didn't understand why they couldn't be put straight through to me the first time.

Classic castle style hotel in Christchurch.Posted Apr 28, 2014
We travelled in a big family of 7. We were accommodated well in a family room. All we need were provided in a room. We will definitely stay again next time.
