Centrally located charming old hostel

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: The cleanliness and the heating.
Cons: Have adjustable room heaters.
Location: Location: west side of CBD near Avon river. Walkable to museum, botanic gardens, etc. No fast food or cheap eateries nearby.
The hostel is a fair walk away from some bus lines (e.g. Orange line) but was fairly close to the Purple line which travels there direct from the Airport. It is located to the west of the CBD, near the river, and a small walk along the river leads you to the museum, botanic gardens and other attractions. The rooms have good heating and I arrived to a nicely-heated room. The shared bathrooms were all very clean. The other shared spaces - kitchen and lounge - had a clean and comfortable old ambience. There is no fast food nearby, but several rather expensive restaurants. The system for picking up keys after hours and dropping off keys is very convenient. There are several useful information brochures and sheets in the reception. Wifi signal was a little weak upstairs but passable.

公園に近い可愛らしいバックパッカーズ

Posted May 4, 2015

Clean and nice location

Posted Mar 19, 2015
Except for the construction going on on the building, we enjoyed our two nights. It is close to city center and a park. Due to earthquake 4/5 years ago, city center is still rebuilding, so not much to see now (2015) downtown, but should be lovely when done! Had TV in room which was nice and some Internet access.

Just okay

God for youth. Room was small! Just enough room for bed. Plenty of bathrooms. Staff was inattentive. Gave no orientation to facilities ( drinking tequila on the veranda). Parking good. House was being painted so was covered with scaffolding, but no problem. Pricey for what you get.

Decent, clean backpacker

This place provides what you would want from it: it is clean, safe and inexpensive. The rooms are basic but the common areas (kitchen, lounge) are large and well-equipped. It is located close to several restaurants on Victoria street, though the city centre is about 30 mins walk away.
