“excellent airport hotel”
I spend a lot of time in airports, but this is definitely one of the best airport hotels I have experienced. Location is in the airport itself, but inside it is hardly noticeable. Very nice large room, all amenities, free internet. Highly recommended.
“Sudima Good Hotel”
For our purposes the location of the hotel was perfect. The staff at the desk were helpful and answered questions posed to them very professionally. Despite being so close to the airport, the hotel was very quiet.
“Excellent hotel”
The hotel is clean and well maintained, but best of all the staff is friendly and very accommodating. Sudima provides a shuttle from and to the airport. If you are travelling light, you can actually walk to the hotel in about 5 minutes. There is a bar and restaurant in house. We had multiple evening meals at the restaurant and all were top quality. Whenever we fly into Christchurch, we always stay at the Sudima.
“Convenient but flawed”
The first time I stayed at Sudima I was in a different wing. While small, the room was clean and tidy and all was in working order. The second visit we were in a wing on the far side of the hotel. We had to climb one flight to get to the room as there was no elevator on that side. Room was older with stained, worn carpet. The telephone did not work and the staff at the desk were not pleasant or accommodating. There was no way to regulate room temperature and the HVAC unit made a clicking noise all night. Further, the dining room could not give us a reservation for two hours! Having said that, the hotel is very convenient. Just walk across a parking lot to the airport.
“Good pick!”
Clean hotel next to the airport. Has a better than average restaurant. More that one expects for an "airport" hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Room was adequate and clean. Shuttle staff from airport was very efficient.
“Meets expectations”
Everything as expected: a little bit old hotel but very convenient (close to the airport), quiet and clean. Convenient shuttle service.
“Would stay there again”
Nice hotel and very convenient to the airport as well as to the town center. Right next door to car rental and Antartica Center. 24-Hour shuttle service to the airport was free, too. We originally booked for one night but got there one day earlier, no problem in getting the same rate. Only had a small confusion as or confirmation e-mail didn't clearly indicate whether it was pre-paid or not.
“Great hotel and a great location”
Outside the Sudima appears pretty ordinary, and once inside, it's not top of the range or particularly modern, but that didn't stop it from being a very good experience. It was excellent value for money and its proximity to the air terminal at Christchurch and the prompt delivery by the free shuttle bus just topped off our experience. We wouldn't stay anywhere else before and after travel in the South Island. Starting with the staff who were very helpful and pleasant, to the room that had everything you could want, including comfortable chairs to sit on, and a very nice dinner in the restaurant. Our only disappointment with the dinner was the poor dessert menu which was uninteresting and expensive. Wine drinkers should also beware because drinks were VERY expensive. The tv in the room was a bit old fashioned, but it worked okay, and other than that we had no complaints.
