loved our 6 days here. very friendly staff. enjoyed the quietness of this location. the only downfall is the wifi and we were told it was coming very soon to all rooms, it is free in the lobby. played golf several times not the greatest course the roughs are to long and unkept, very challenging lost several balls in the water. course is not very busy but much water to play around. two very nice pools always felt good to take a dip after playing 9 holes. the food in the main restaurant is very expensive but the restaurant next to the golf course is reasonable and good. they offer a free shuttle service into town.

Pros: Comfortable modern rooms
Cons: In room wifi cost was high
Location: Great location in pleasant surroundings
Had a very nice one day stay at this hotel. the hotel staff were very pleasant and the restaurant prices and food quality were excellent. Pleasant surroundings on a golf course and beach. Great choice in Chumphon!

nice hotel, would recommend

great hotel with large rooms. well maintained, with good restaurants and staff. only problem is that there is nothing to do in chumphon and the hotel is a good distance from the town center. overall, i would recommend this hotel, although only for a night or two to maybe relax unless you have a reason to be in chumphon. we were there just for a couple days before going to koh phangan, and it was nice to just relax for two days and do nothing.

The hotel is ok but it has an old look, the breakfast is good. neighbourhood not much to do. Opposite road is a fabulous fish restaurant, this could be the reason to stop in this hotel.

This was a really nice place to stay in. We had a room overlooking the pool and it was nice view to wake up to. Everything is new and in good condition and service was very polite.. We would stay there again anytime.

Hotel Novotel in Chumphon

A fab hotel, massive room, huge bath, great gym, the pools were really good. Really was worth the money. Its 20 km out of town so nothing to do. Internet way to expensive a few houndred baht for and hour, walk out the entrance of the hotel turn left 5 mins up road internet for just 15 baht an hour. Other than that good. Restaurant across the road nice food!!

Great Hotel, Strange Area

Posted Sep 21, 2009 on Hotels.com
This hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the room was gigantic and by far the nicest room I have stayed in, in over 30 days in Asia. However, the hotel itself is a 20 minute tuk tuk ride from Chumphon train station (so build that small amount into your budget). If you are into golf, a pool, bacci, ping pong, and a view of the beach (but across the street) then this place was great. The hotel food was definitely very expensive, but there are two cheap (cheap!) seafood/thai places across the street on the water. I ate across the street, and although they look dingy, the food was awesome. I was only there one night, on my way to Koh Nangyuan, and this was actually perfect, since this hotel is closer to the Lomprayah boat pier than the downtown area is. Overall, this was a great place, but if you want something cheap - probably not the way to go.

Novotel Chumphon

The room that I got, smell in the fridge is so bad. Then, they changed the room for me, which is nice. In the room, everything is ok, but outside, when I open the door at night, polluted water smell is so bad and the smell was in my room for a while.
