My mother (who is 60) and I (24) wanted a cheap getaway to Rome and I doubt there could have been a better way to do it. The room itself was the cheapest possible in the hotel and although it was dark and on the ground floor it was cleaned every day with fresh towels and soaps etc. All of staff were friendly and helpful always and spoke English. The restaurant menu was reasonably priced with a great selection and good combo deals.
The hotel was an easy commute to the train station, only a 15 minute walk, and trains run regularly to and from the Rome Termini (main station) which makes it a much better option than staying inside the city, that could obviously cost more than twice what we paid. The airport is also only a short distance away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a low costing, great value holiday. Should I return to Rome I would definitely use it myself.

You can't change your location, but you can accommodate for it and Hotel Palacavicchi certainly accommodates.
My girlfriend and I spent a long weekend in Rome, hosted by the friendly and helpful staff at Hotel Palacavicchi. Although I say it is not a great location, if you are flying in to Ciampino airport it is ideal and very accessible. For us, flying in to Leonardo da Vinci, it was a bit out of the way, but a 20 minute taxi (€50) and you have avoided the city centre. The hotel then goes a long way to ensure that the city is very accessible. We found the shuttle service to the train station very useful and cheap and if you are getting back after the last train (which is around 22:45) the underground runs late and they were happy to pick us up from Anagnina station (around 02:30).
This depicts the friendly staff's willingness to help very well. Everything from printing to preparing a breakfast box if you are leaving early, they are great hosts. The breakfast itself is very good too offering a large continental selection (including delicious chocolate croissants).
Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, the interior is lovely and the rooms were very clean. My only negative was that the double bed was made up of two singles pushed together, which results in someone generally getting lost in the divide during the night, but this aside a very nice room and a great place to stay.

Not easy to find but easily within walking distance from local station Casabianca which is next stop from Ciampino airport station.
Very nice small hotel next to nearby airport , no airport noise between 2200hrs and 0700hrs.
Good local recommended restaurant but very limited English which makes ordering interesting.
