Served it's purpose.

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: The bed was reasonably comfortable, the hot water was plentiful, the check-in clerk was friendly and polite.
Cons: Room smelled musty, no screen on the window, air conditioner had to stay on; it was a bit noisy, and the reading lamp wiring and WiFi were sketchy.
Location: Only there to visit my son at college, so that's where all the action was, though quite nearby.
I was there to visit my son at a nearby college. Under those circumstances I was only in the room late at night to sleep. It served it's purpose. While I might be willing to stay there again on my own, I wouldn't bring my family.

Should have never been on the list!

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Getting the last available hotel room in a college town is never going to be pleasant. This was no exception to that rule. The Butler Inn should never be promoted by Expedia. It is a complete dump. Any further critique would be cruel and unfair so I will stop here. Stay away John Q. Public!

Should rename Last Resort Inn

Posted Jul 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
This place was extremely run down, holes in the bathroom walls, grout very dirty and cracked, bathroom door didn't close, and tiny bugs on the floor. The room smelled very musty, and there were stains on the bedspreads. If you really just don't want to sleep under the highway viaduct, then this is the place for you.

Pros: Nothing other than its location.
Cons: Everything. It should be razed and rebuilt from the ground up.
Location: Miami University
The hotel is an old motel that is decorated in 'Bates Motel' fashion from the 1960's movie Psycho. The mattress was rock hard, the bathroom door wouldn't shut because the floor under the threshold was heaved, the bed spread smelled moldy, the towel rack in the bathroom was coming out of the wall and was mounted crooked, the TV is from the 1990's and the in room phone is from the 1980's. The lighting fixtures in the room and bathroom do not work properly. It was such a horrible experience, we left after the first night and went home, forfeiting our second night room fee. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Comfortable with nice staff

For the price, the room was fine. The beds were quite nice, but the bathroom is small. Plenty of closet space, nice air/heat control. The room was clean but the towels are on the smaller side and there is no ice machine

Getting better

Posted Mar 4, 2014
This is the second year I have stayed at the Butler Inn and I have to say it is getting better. It was bought by the owners of Comfort Inn down the road. Since last year they have painted the room, gotten new bedspreads and the overall appearance is improving. Our room was dated with pink tile and cosmetic repairs were needed but the room was clean, we had a refrigerator and a small coffee maker. The manager was very nice and proud of the improvements to the property and the continued progress they have planned. He did say that guest of the Butler Inn could have breakfast at the Comfort Inn in the mornings and use the pool.
