“Bedbugs”
It is a wonderful hotel and I've stayed there many times. However, this time my bed had bedbugs in it. Completely disgusting. I found one crawling on me and I have a rash from all the bites. I know this is a common problem with even the nicest hotels, but I can't help but want to avoid this hotel in future.
“Adorable! Staff very helpful and friendly! Comfortable.”
I booked a room at this hotel (I'd never heard of it) because it was within easy walking distance from the Taft Theatre. All I needed was a warm bed, room service, clean facilities. What I got was an adorable, cozy, comfortable oasis in what turned out to be a pretty boring, commercial neighorhood (near the post office and bus terminal). The staff was warm and welcoming. The complimentary London taxis that take you anywhere you'd like to go in the city were a nice touch. The phone booths-turned business center cubicles in the lobby were fun and useful. My room was comfortable, lush and quiet. The room service food was delicious and the menu offered variety. I wouldn't hesitate to return the next time I'm in Cincinnati.
“Excellent Place to Stay”
Stayed here at the last minute and was very pleased - great place to stay and the employees were awesome!
“Historic Hotel with an Butique Feel.”
Great service and a beautiful hotel.
“Cincinattian Hotel --- 4 Star? Obviously their employees are writing reviews...”
I was in town for a 6 day business trip. Since the trip was ont eh company dollar I chose a nice hotel, which was accross the street from my client. I asked for early check-in. i was told no rooms are available until 4PM. The person in front of me was given a room. He was wearing a suit, I was not. My mistake?? 1st and 2nd night - was put on a floor going through renovations. I wake up to construction. Also A/C was broken. No vending machines at all in the entire hotel. Oh wait, they have 5$ water in your room. I guess they're trying to keep the riff raff out? No hydraulics on the doors, so all night you hear doors slamming. No key cards, it's old school key style. Key replacement fee is 50$. Better not lose it! The key not having a hole in it means I can't put it on a key chain. Great... They put a hold on your credit card for items on room service. Make sure you have enough room on my credit card for days of hotel expenses. TERRIBLE neighborhood. Walking around that area at night is sketchy. 2 Abandoned BUILDINGS within site of my room. You will certainly be encountering pan handlers in any direction you go. I'm from DC, I'm used to this, but where iw as staying, I was a little surprised. I was told I could have a small fridge in my room, it took 3 days before it arrived. I had to return my breakfast on day 5 because a dead termite was in the middle of my plate. What do they give me in return? A coupon for free room service!! Ah the irony...
“Very Nice Hotel”
Overall, very nice hotel. Clean, and friendly staff. The Palace Restaurant was also nice.
“Jan Charles Gray”
A great upscale Hotel perfectly located to walk to the ballgame and all top restaurants in Downtown. You pay a bit more---but it's worth it.
“Better than expected”
Good overall
“Beautiful accommodations.”
I really enjoyed my stay at The Cincinnatian. It is a beautiful old hotel yet the rooms are spacious and modern. The staff is top notch and makes it feel like you are getting five-star treatment. My only small complaint is the parking. The only real option is very pricey valet parking. I chose to self park, but had to use a garage around the corner and cut through at alley (alone) to get to the hotel entrance. Also, despite the fact I was directed to this particular garage, there was no signage in the garage to direct me to the hotel, so I had to find my own way, dragging my luggage behind me.
“Lovely hotel”
Rooms and service are great. For quiet, ask for a room away from the atrium. I also missed the coffeemaker in the room; the choices were room service or getting dressed and going to the lobby.
