Late '80s Time Warp

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: The downtown location is especially convenient to Fountain Square, which is less than one full city block away.
Cons: The entire building needs interior renovation. Top to bottom, period.
Location: Excellent location. Shopping, restaurants, Contemporary Art Museum, Taft Theatre, public library are all within easy walking distance.
When the Cincinnatian opened after a 1987 renovation, this hotel would have been "cutting edge." Now it is desperate. Aside from the central staircase, nothing suggests the building's original design. The furnishings, artwork and courtyard scream for renovation. Overall...dated, and more than a little sad.

I would have preferred they offer more amenities for the price!

Pros: Quiet and comfortable.
Location: Enjoyed the Brewery Prohibition tour from Findlay Market and dinner at Sotto was the best meal I'd had in a long time.
Wonderful stay. I do wish they had in-room coffee makers and the bar had been open past midnight. Otherwise great and I would go back.

It's not my fault

Posted Aug 31, 2014
The hotel did not have the room that was booked and knowingly assigned a room that was overlooking an alley where noisy construction takes place starting in te early morning. A four star hotel room should have a refrigerator, more than one bar of soap and more than one trash can. The bed was 2 star motel condition and the air conditioning was almost as noisy as the construction/demolition. Stay somewhere else.

Nice - got a discount

Very beautiful hotel. Loved the stay. A couple constructive critisms: hotel whirlpool had mold in grout, staff said sauna held 4-5 and 2 would fit, exercise equipment was broken. Beautiful rooms, comfortable bed, chair had a hole in it. For the price things needed more attention.

Charming and elegant with a terrific staff.

Pros: A beautiful, and luxurious haven.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Just a block from Fountain Square, Macy's, Tiffany's, great food, local iconic hat shop, jazz, art and 15 min Trolley to Aquarium!.
Wonderful experience for a senior lady. I felt safe and pampered during my stay at this lovely old hotel. Bell captains, doormen, and concierge, and desk people were perfect ..plus a serene dining experience. Most every thing going on in downtown Cinci is only a block away. Did not use my car for the entire 4 days. Each time I came back, hot and tired, I was greeted by the friendly staff. No worries and the hotel has been renovated, but has kept all the charm of a turn of the century hotel. Lives up to it's original name, The Palace.

Nicest room I've ever stayed in!

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: The luxury, and the location.
Cons: Maybe 4" foam bed toppers, the bed was great but that would improve them.
Location: We walked to the game.
I have stayed in this hotel before and really enjoyed it but this time our room was extremely beautiful! Would recommend for every one to stay here! We took friends with us and they loved their stay also.

Room was very small. Window looked out into the lobby. Shower pressure was too strong.

Overpriced

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Decent hotel, just not worth the price. No self parking nearby & valet is expensive. There are other hotels closer & more convenient to The Banks with better parking. First impression, worn carpets, messy behind desk with poodle scratching. Clerk friendly though. Room was clean & comfortable, but did not look anything like the internet pictures. They have in room snacks you can purchase at at ridiculous price. Coffee the next morning in lobby was cold.
