Great location but pricey for the room size

Posted Apr 25, 2015
The location downtown was very convenient. Staff was great! But the price we paid for the size of the room was quite expensive with few amenities. Also, there were few places to go once inside the hotel if you didn't want to eat at the restaurant.

Not what I was thinking

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Water pressure, bathroom
Cons: If this is a VIP hotel for Expedia, there should be perks.
Location: The fountain, lots of restaurants and art centers around.
Entry is right on the street. Staff at front when we checked in was less than helpful. As a VIPS/amenities hotel, we got nothing. No bonus at all. He took forever. We went to our room and noticed right away that the bathroom was bigger than our room. Nice tub, great water pressure.

Enjoyable Weekend

Posted Apr 13, 2015
This was our very first time traveling to Cincinnati Ohio and we couldn't of picked a better hotel to stay at. The room we stayed in was one of the remodeled rooms and it was extremely nice. Bed was a little firm for my liking but I still had a good nights rest. The staff was friendly and helpful with anything needed, we had breakfast downstairs at there restaurant and it was delicious. I will def be visiting and staying at this hotel again and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Cincinnati. Located right downtown close to everything. :) Two thumbs up!!

Easter weekend getaway 2015

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Pros: The gentleman (Joe) who checked us in on our arrival was VERY nice and friendly and explained things about the hotel and the valet parking etc.
Cons: Ask if guest was happy at checkout. We were charged for all 3 nights of valet but only used one night. Our bill was promptly adjusted.
Location: Location was good as a lot of restaurants were nearby and fountain square was also just a short walk.
The décor in the room was almost medieval in appearance......outdated (pleated with the pins) window treatment behind the bed. Extremely old armoires and bedside tables. We booked a King balcony.....which looked out over part of the lobby, but all we could really see were faux balconies with artificial plants and cheap flickering fluorescent light bulbs. On the 8th floor where we stayed (in front of the elevator) sat a stained cream colored vinyl looking covered piece of furniture. The carpet in the hall was so worn and outdated. The lighting in the bathrooms was so dim I had a hard time seeing to get ready. The bathroom did have one 15 minute timed brighter light that I kept having to reset the entire time I was in the bathroom. We were there for three nights and the housekeeping staff never came the second day so we had to call to get clean towels. The bed was so old and lumpy we sank when we laid on it......it had some weird thick topper on top of the mattress. The decorative pillows on the bed were covered in the same material as the window treatments and were filled with feathers that poked through the material. We went to the Easter buffet and while most of the food was decent, the desserts were not tasty and were dried out. We were seated at (buffet) a small and very low cocktail type table with old overstuffed lounge chairs..very difficult and unpleasant way to eat a very pricey buffet.

2nd stay

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: It was charming. Our room was very large. We enjoyed the live music in the bar!
Cons: There is no coffee pots in the room. You need to get up, get dressed and go to the lobby to get coffee.
Location: Location is great!
This was our second stay. The staff was wonderful. Upon check in the courtesy car took us to our destination. The driver was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the charm of the hotel.

Small but functional and unique room

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Historic and magnificent
Cons: Move the brick building to the south out of the way for a river view? (just a wish)
Location: Ball parks, river, bars, downtown
Everything about our stay was nice, except for the brick wall view. We would probably try a room on the atrium rather than the side of the building that we did. Absolutely beautiful hotel, with a very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location.

Could have had a better view.

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: The bathroom!
Cons: Ask for a room that overlooks the city, not the interior of the hotel.
What's the first thing you do when you enter your hotel room? For me and my husband it is check out our view... Well, our view in The Cincinnatian was of the hotel lobby. There are rooms that overlook the inside of the hotel... Kind of a weird feeling when you're sitting in your room watching people eat dinner in the lounge. So, I was disappointed but I did not complain since it was a short lived visit. The bathroom was amazing, though. We could have spent the night in there. And, all of the staff was very accommodating, even keeping the lounge open when we walked through the doors after a concert at 10:59PM so we could get something to eat when they closed at 11.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay. Thanks to the wonderful gentleman by the name of Joe, my stay was fabulous. Joe provided information to local restaurants and local activities in the area. Not only did he make my stay great, he even offered to walk me from the parking garage around the corner to the hotel because I was lost. This was a great example of what hospitality should be!!
