“Handy to car hire”

Hotel was close to car hire place and had free bus shuttle to the ferry to go to CinqueTerre.

We really liked the hotel. We had some difficulty finding it, but once we got there we were very pleased with the facility and staff.

“Nice stay for the money”

Nice room and breakfast, easy to park car. In emailing for directions by car from another part of Italy, the same receptionist handled our inquiry and subsequent questions. She was there upon our arrival and departure, knew right away who we were and our concerns, this from having booked 5-6 weeks prior. Other hotel personnel was helpful; she went above and beyond.

“Friendly, Comfortable, Great base for Cinque Terre”

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel was great value for money. The included breakfast was really good - a nice way to start the day. The hotel shuttle took us to the train station and they provided us with all the information we needed to see the Cinque Terre. This must be a family owned business because there were so many nice touches to the place and everyone was so pleasant to deal with. The free parking was the icing on the cake. A little remote if you do not have a car but the taxis were not expensive.

It is an extremely clean hotel - not fancy -just the basics- but for the price and the service, it was a deal- People very friendly and accomodating- some nice artifacts in the lobby- right on the autostrade- very convenient

“3.5 star hotel”

The location of the Ghironi means that you need to be fit enough for a 1-2km walk into La Spezia port/town along a fairly major road or prepared to pay for taxis/get the bus. The site is next to the autostrade and the views are of industrial offices. Having said that, the staff at Ghironi are very helpful, rooms are clean/comfortable and the free shuttle bus can be booked any morning to get to the port or the train station and is excellent. In terms of facilities, as a four-star hotel, I would have expected the Ghironi to have a few more frills - many 3-star hotels in the region provide in-room tea-making and free internet which the Ghironi does not (you can pay for the internet)and there was no restaurant or much activity in the hotel itself (small bar in the reception area). The breakfast was good and there is an excellent pizzeria/fish restaurant down the road which the Ghironi staff recommended. Basically a functional hotel, good for business stays and probably an okay option if you're travelling by car, but in my opinion a little too far from the town centre without wheels.

“Service with a smile!”

We recently returned from a trip to Italy and visited Cinque Terra. After some delays in getting other lodgings to respond, we decided to book at hotels and settled on Hotel Ghironi because it provided a shuttle service to town. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Catherine, a South American front desk receptionist, who was warm, friendly and helpful to us in our stay. Her cheerfulness and help plus that of the Shuttle van driver made our stay welcoming. Her suggestions and responses to our requests were kind and professional too. We enjoyed our breakfast and stay thanks to these 2 staff in particular. I'd recommend this hotel to friends who may visit that area of Italy.

“Not close to train station but worth the taxi ride!”

Hotel was nowhere close to the train station, so we took a cab when we arrived. Very pleased to find out they had a shuttle service available. We took it back and forth to the train station to go to Cinque Terre and then again when we left La Spezia. Wonderful staff - very helpful. Great breakfast too!

“Good value”

Hotel is a fair way from the port and train station but the hotel provides a free shuttle service so that is not a problem for departure for Cinque Terre. Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly.
