“best location for Cinque Terre visits”

Our family of 6 stayed at Hotel Firenze E Continentale for 2 nights as we visited Cinque Terre. The location could not be better as the train station is across the street and we didn't hear train noise in the rooms. The rooms were adequate although the mattresses were not ideal. It was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. Free internet made it a huge plus. There was a problem with checking in with a mix up in the reservations but that was not the hotel's fault and eventually they did their best to work it out. We would stay there again and will recommend it to others.

“Hotel Firenze E Continentale”

It was an excellent choice. 50 Meters from the railway station and walking distance to many restaurants. The employees were friendly, helpful, and spoke English very well. Because of the location it was so easy to use the train to go to Cinque Terre, Pisa, and Florence for day trips. Lobby/bar area was nicely appointed and a nice place to sit and use the wi fi.

“Very convenient”

A very convenient location near the train station. Very clean. Only problem was requested a double and got a room with two twin beds. Recommend booking on Hotel Firenze and Continental site to secure desired room.

“not worth the price”

This hotel was VERY expensive and was nothing special. Although the breakfast was excellent! That part of our stay was very impressive. There weren't the appropriate number of towels for the amount of guests in our party. We also had to call and have clean sheets put on the bed as they were dirty with what appeared to be mud marks. Not something a person would expect when they're spending that much money for a night's stay.

“Good Hotel from which to explore La Spezia and Cinque Terre”

The hotel is right across the train station, and, therefore, very conveniently located to access the train to reach the Cinque Terre towns. The staff at the hotel was very friendly; the hotel is well maintained and the room was kept very clean. The complimentary breakfast was good and the hotel's breakfast room is located on the top floor where you can get a good view of the town. There are a lot of good restaurants and very nice shops in La Spezia, and some nice and very inexpensive restaurants relatively close to the hotel. Additionally, there is a coin laundry right around the corner from the hotel - which will allow you to do your laundry at a very reasonable price. (The hotel has laundry service, of course, but it is much more expensive.) The only item that was tolerable, but not great, was the bathroom of the room which was relatively small. But besides that, all was good and I recommend this hotel for anyone exploring La Spezia and the Cinque Terre area. (By the way, please lower your expectations about Cinque Terre, which is overly hyped and overly overrated. Most of the pictures of Cinque Terre that you see are heavily photoshopped. However, enjoy the pasta, the pesto and the wine!)

“La Spezia hotel”

Town of La Spezia should be listed by Rick Steves! Hotel in city center, lots of interesting shops on the pedestrian only walkway, Good restaurants withing a couple blocks. Service was excellent, good advice for day trip to Cinque Terra, easy access to train. Hotel desk clerk spoke very good English & was knowledgeable about train/boat access, which towns were "don't miss", etc. Had cash bar with free snacks in the evening; good breakfast in the morning, ie something more than sweets. Only downside was cost of internet usage- 4 Eu for half hour & computer was a bit slow. Pay for an hour for a little break in price.

“Great location for Cinque Terra connections.”

You can't beat this location! Just a short walk to the train station (less than 3 minutes). The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. The neighborhood was a little sketchy but we walked to dinner and things were okay. Just seemed a little rough. Parking was right outside the front door and very reasonable. Rooms were small but adequate and clean. Quiet at night and overall a good place to stay. Would definitely stay there again.

“Great location for Cinque Terra trains. Would stay there again.”

Great location close to the train station (100 yards away). Hotel room was a good size for Italian cities. Good breakfast included, served in attic room. Friendly staff. Easy walk to restaurants. Better shopping area was 15 mins walk along pedestian only street.

“Hard to Find But Worth it”

This hotel worked very well for a visit to the Cinque Terra area. The train station is just down the block from the hotel. The hotel was nice and comfortable The only down side was trying to find the hotel with the GPS. The hotel is actually down a side street that has a barrier across the road. We did not know that the hotel was beyond the barrier and the hotel activates the barrier (upon request!). The parking garage for the hotel is around the corner of the hotel and you must pass through the barrier again. After finding the hotel, we enjoyed just catching the train to the Cinque Terra area. The train stops right in the 5 towns of the Cinque Terra. There was a restaurant right across the street from the hotel. The food was okay, but the waitress seemed to have an attitude. When she delivered food that we did not order, she thought we should just eat it anyway!

“Cinque terre stay”

The room was quite noisy as very close to all other rooms. The staff were friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent with great variety and views of the mountains outside. The location was excellent very close to the train station,ue
