Close to the central train station, 24 hour reception, elevator to get to higher floors, plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants in the area. It is an older hotel in need of updating, rooms are small as well as the bathrooms.

The staff are so nice and helpful! We asked about where to walk one evening and were directed to this very lovely walking street. Pretty much everything is just along the same street as the hotel which is directly across from the train station. Our room was very clean and even though on the busy street side, once you close the windows it was quite quiet. Don't miss out on the amazing breakfast!

Excellent location. Across the street from the train station It was clean, except for a blanket in the closet. Breakfast was ok. I would say it's a fully depreciated 3 stars hotel.

For those travelers using train system for movement this is a great location. Also for proximity to city center is great for those wanting that. We simply visited to again enjoy the Cinque Terre since 5 years ago and this was closest hotel we could book to the Port for the boat ride up and back. Only problems we had were related to parking. Hotel is on a busy street next to train station. Difficult for those with car and not knowing where they are going. No stopping in front of hotel. Hotel parking was a block away which was fine but no way to know location. They stated they had parking and they did have it and once my wife was dropped off and went in to desk staff was very helpful in showing me where to go. Overall helpful staff. Great breakfast and other services like bar and snacks. Rooms clean and larger than normal in It.

Great hotel in La Spezia by the train station
I was really pleased when I stepped out of the train station and saw the Hotel Mary sign directly opposite, just a few minutes walk! The train station has a lift which takes you down to street level, directly opposite the hotel. Super convenient. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful and I received a warm welcome. The room was small but clean and had a really comfy bed and everything I needed for my two night stay. Perfect for a place to sleep when you’re exploring all day A perfect place to base yourself while exploring Cinque Terre. Walkable to the town for food and shopping and to the marina for ferries. The breakfast was lovely with a choice of a simple coffee and brioche or a full buffet. I had the simple and it was delicious and fresh. I was able to leave my bags at reception at checkout time so I could explore for the day. I did a quick trip to Pisa, really convenient with the train so close. Overall a great stay and I’d highly recommend this hotel

Hotel is very convenient to La Spezia Centrale train station, literally across the street, so arrival and departure very easy. So easy to access Cinque Terre via train. Hotel breakfast was excellent. Homemade pastries... Staff was attentive to all requests. Outside temp was hot, and hotel was extremely cool. Good value for the price. This is our second stay at Hotel Mary and would stay here again.

Good choice of location. Near plaza with many choices of restaurants and shops. Literally across from train. Yet quiet to get a good nights rest. Basic room, was small but enough for a solo. Would recommend.

Small hotel. Very close to the train station. Pleasant staff. Very clean, comfortable beds. A little noisy at night just to do the street noise but other than that it was great. Walking distance to a plaza that had tons of restaurants.

The hotel provided everything we needed. The property was conveniently located and literally across the street from the train station. Down the street (to the right) was a laundry and a grocery store as well as a number of good restaurants.

Nice large rooms for 3 people. Easy check in and helpful staff. They hold a car space in advance if you ask which was metres away and even assisted us with parking. This hotel is literally across the road/crossing to the main station access which was wonderful and unexpected! Breakfast included with wonderful pastries and cakes.

Great LOCATION for getting in and out of Cinque Terra. Right at the train station. Pretty basic accommodations. The rooms are super simple, but the staff are very nice. The breakfast was simple dut tasty. They have Green roll down shutters on the windows, that don’t stay up… A little dark in the rooms with the shutters down…

Comfortable base for Cinque Terre trip
Very good choice for visiting Cinque Terre: the hotel is right at the La Spezia train station, yet close to downtown with all the cafes and other eateries. Very clean. The amenities are basic, but fully adequate. Would gladly stay again and recommend as a very sensible choice

Right outside the train station which is handy. La Spezia is a convenient base of operations for the Cinque Terre with better rail connections than most in the area. Not the most attractive area, but very quick walk into the main part of the old town anyway. Large room and friendly staff.

Everything in this place was old abd had a funny smell to it. I can't say it was dirty. It's right across the train station which makes it convenient to take the train. You're asked to leave your room key ( which is literally a key and not access cards) at the property reception when you leave the hotel.

I was a bit wary after some of the reviews but this hotel exceeded my expectations. Look, it’s a 3-star hotel so it’s not like it has aallll the amenities, but the location is great, the bed was fairly comfortable, the shower had good pressure, the air con was powerful and the wifi was fast. That’s all I wanted after three long days exploring the Cinque Terre, La Spezia and Lerici. Would happily stay again.

A very cute and nice hotel! It was close to a lot of amenities, shopping, the town center, and right by the train station which was amazing for day trips. The hotel itself is down a flight of stairs with super friendly staff who also speak English and my one bedroom was small but comfortable.

Save money, stay in Hotel Mary for Cinque Terra!
Normally I don’t write reviews but had to write this one… If you are visiting Cinque Terra, I would highly recommend you stay at Hotel Mary! As soon as you get off the train into La Spezia, there are steps to the left of the tree (located in the parking lot) as soon as you exit the train station. Those steps will take you down to Hotel Mary which is literally across the street. If you have lots of luggage, then as soon as you walk outside the train station, there is a glass structure on the right side when you exit of the parking lot where you can take the elevator straight down to street level if you want to avoid the stairs. Cross the street on the first level and you’ll be in front of Hotel Mary. It is literally less than 500 feet away from the train station. We had six luggage and two kids so the location of Hotel Mary really helped us out. Service was great from the time we checked in to the time we checked out! Breakfast for kids was 5 euros and it’s a full breakfast. Coffee and croissant was 2.50 euros as my husband and I normally don’t eat a heavy breakfast. Staff is awesome and front desk is 24 hr. A family of 4, we stayed in rm 502 and the layout was great. Plenty of room to move around, shower head and tollet no problem, plenty of towels. They have a hairdryer to use as well. Most importantly the air condition works great! It’s not loud and won’t keep you up at night. (I would recommend you bring your own shampoo/conditioner cuz it’s not same as U.S.)
