“If you can't speak Italian, beware”
I had reserved a room without a bath and my traveling companion was unhappy about that. I knew the room was nonrefundable, so I called the hotel directly the night before our stay and asked if we could switch to a room with a bath. One, the person who answered hardly spoke any English at all. That's fine, the hotel is in Italy, but then she shouldn't be catering to international travelers. I repeated the words "con bano" about 8 times and I was fairly certain she had under stood what I was trying to get across, and so I let it go. We showed up the next day. We took a cab b/c we had no idea how to get there, and honestly, I have no idea how anyone could find their way there and back, it is not a straight shot at all, and I doubt it would be a 15 minute walk, try 30. We showed up and she, after more arguing, as if I hadn't talked to her the night before (And I know it had to be the same person), she finally showed us to a room with a bath. Then, as we were settling in, not even 2 min later when I left to ask her a question about how to get back to the station, she was gone! As we checked out, I saw a whole stack of maps of the city. That would have been really nice to have.... UPON CHECKING IN. The service was just awful. I can't recommend this place at all.
