A charming B&BPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: Everything was great. Better directions from the train station would have been helpful.
Location: Levanto is a resort community slightly north of the Cinque Terre. It has lots of good restaurants, nice shops, and a beach.
We recently spent two nights at Villa Margherita. It's a lovely property, has very helpful & pleasant owners & staff, is immaculately clean, with a delicious cold breakfast buffet. Their gardens are especially beautiful. Our room was fairly small, (which we expected) but the bed was great and the shower was one of the best we had in Italy. Free WIFI, a/c, and a flat screen t.v. were all as promised. We arrived by train, and based on what we'd read on their website, decided to walk to VM...bad decision! Advice: spend the extra few euro & take a taxi. Schlepping 2 large cases through the streets of Levanto was NOT fun, but we did meet some lovely people who gave us directions. :) On our departure (possibly because we'd had such a terrible time getting to VM), their son gave us a ride to the Levanto station, which was a happy surprise.

Great Place to StayPosted Jun 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was a great place to stay in Levanto, near the Cinque Terra - the Italian Riviera. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable, with tile floors and on the bathroom walls. The check-in clerk was the nephew of the owner and was very helpful and gave great recommendations on where to eat. We were very pleased and highly recommend this place.

Quaint hotel/ B&BPosted May 27, 2014
Convenient to Cinque Terra by train. Walking distance to train station and parking at hotel available. Did not spend any time in town close to Villa Margherita, so can't comment on restaurants and nearby attractions.

Cute b&bPosted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms were very clean, so much bleach used which gave me a headache after a while. The towels smelled as though they'd been washed in vinegar, can't say it wasn't clean though! Its a cute place. In between the train station and the main part of town. The staff were all friendly and we had a lovely breakfast and the room had its own little garden. I'd stay here again!

Peaceful location.Posted May 17, 2014
Pros: Lovely garden to relax after a long day sightseeing. Quiet and peaceful.
Location: Levanto is a great location to base your stay if you are planning to visit the Cinque Terre coast. Good train service using the Cinque Terre pass.
Close to train station but did need to take a 10 euro taxi for 4 on arrival as accomodation up hill. Once at our accomodation it was a fairly easy walk back down to the restaurants and harbour. Breakfast in dining room was very homely and well catered. Plenty of information on arrival and owners were happy to transfer us to the train on departure.

Great location and staff.Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: Location, Overall Friendly Service, and breakfast.
Cons: Nothing for our type of stay.
Location: Close to town for restaurants and the beach board walk which was very nice especially walking north. Levanto is close to Cinque Terra (5 mins.).
Overall a great experience. Walked from Levanto to Monterosso al Mare via a trail that started from the south end of town across the hills with beautiful views of the Mediterranean.

Basic but good value and comfortablePosted Nov 15, 2013
Cons: Furniture and linen with more character and charm would make the rooms nicer. Our room was small and storage was minimal.
Location: Easy walk to town and train station. Coming back would be a bit challenging for older folks as quite steep and quite a few steps.
Our first view of our room was a little disappointing. There's no hint of luxury here and the best thing was the French doors (double glazed) that opened to the balcony with a narrow view of the sea. But we came to like the place for it's elevated location away from the noise of the town, the excellent breakfast (not cooked but big variety), the cleanliness and the niceness of the staff and their willingness to oblige. We paid a very reasonable rate and enjoyed our stay. The villa has a charming tiled stairway with iron balustrade, a nice breakfast area and a delightful outdoor living space. The interior guest sitting area was occupied at night by the owners' elderly parents who to their credit always offered us the remote control. With limited English and us having no Italian we left them to watch their Italian TV and retreated to the mini set in our room. Feels a bit like home stay accommodation in many ways and the parents could not have been nicer.
