Cipanas is located some 35 miles (56 kilometers) from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and about 45 miles (72 kilometers) from Bandung.
Cipanas isn't the only place in this popular region worth exploring; visitors with plenty of time should also hit the road and discover the unique qualities of the nearby landscapes, communities and cultural attractions. Check out the Taman Safari Indonesia and Puncak Tea Plantation in and around Cisarua, which is approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers), away from Cipanas. A side-trip to Bogor is another great option. It's 17 miles (27 kilometers) from Cipanas and where you'll find the Bogor Agriculture University (Institut Pertanian Bogor) and Sentul International Circuit.
Around 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the north of Cipanas is Jakarta, an important regional center which is home to National Gallery of Indonesia, Bundaran Hi and Plaza Senayan. Orchid Garden Mall, Thamrin City Shopping Mall and Istiqlal Mosque are other good spots to visit.
West Java offers visitors some wonderful temples and other places of worship, perfect places to get a taste of Cipanas' gentler side. Ask a local their favorite places to see, more often than not they'll point to West Java's fascinating gardens and open-air markets.
Have a break from traveling and spend a few relaxing hours snorkeling or swimming.
For many, the world is a book and those who don't spend time traveling remain on the same page day after day after day. So plan your holiday today, and enjoy the experiences to be savoured in West Java.
