A good hotel
Providing you don't mind walking 10 minutes or so to catch a bus or train, then this hotel is a very good choice. The hotel is quiet, clean and comfortable, with a good free breakfast. The surrounding area is safe, apart from the crossing some of the mearby roads, but you do have to walk 10-15 minutes before you can find any decent shops and restaurants.

Very good hotel close to the main railway station at Porto Nuovo. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room very clean and the buffet breakfast perfectly adequate. The hotel is a little way out of the city centre but it is an easy 15 - 20 minute walk and there are plenty of buses which run to and from the bus station at Porto Nuovo or the nearby Porto Palia.

The Piccolo Performs
The Piccolo (my wife's car name, by the way :-) satisfactorily ticked the boxes for us. It was handy to the station, and it's relative distance rom major attractions didn't matter, as we are inveterate adventurers with local transportation and our Verona card served us well :-) Our check - in with Claudio was a hoot, and the shuttle service to the hotel owners other hotel for 2 very nice dinners, was appreciated. As were the breakfasts! Right up to the expected standards of good Travel Group companies like Insight and Globus, albeit that we were private guests. Excellent value for money, happily recommended.

Good hotel close to train station and city centre
The hotel is about a 3 minute walk to the train station. Really good location that is easy to get to the city centre and for travelling on the local Train, Airport Shuttle and Buses around Verona. The hotel was clean the staff were very helpful and welcoming. A really great choice of breakfast with cereals, various pastries, yogurts, fruit, toast and Eggs/Bacon. Room was very comfortable, they provided an extra pillow when requested and they have Wifi included. The room and bathroom were both clean with multiple towels and shower items included. The only thing was that the shower cubicle is quite small but that was all really. Our only issue was having stayed in room 211 is that we had multiple issues with the lock, one key snapped and we had to get hotel staff to open the door for us a further two times. But there had obviously been issues with this door lock previously as shown in photo. None of the other guest had any issues so it just needs a lock replacement. But the staff were helpful and we didn't get charged for the key snapping and only had to wait for 5 minutes for them to get maintenance to assist so really good service.

Convenient & inexpensive
Good exchange rate on Euro made this especially good value. Convenient for bus/train station (15 mins). Bit further to town, but walkable. Location not so good for strolling out in evening. Air con & fridge appreciated. Room was on the side & beds were narrow. Buffet breakfast had good selection. Staff very friendly & helpful.

Comfortable budget hotel.
We stayed here before and after our trip to the Dolomites. For the cost per night in Verona it's fairly ok value for money. We had breakfast included so that was a bonus. It was plentiful and wide variety of food to suit all tastes. The waitress was very accommodating. The bedroom was small but clean and comfortable. The bedding was good quality and we had a good nights sleep. It's a 15 minute walk in central Verona but that was great for us as we enjoy walking. It's also close to the train station so convenient for transfer to the airport.

Overnight Stay in Verona
Situated 10 mins walk from the train station and 20 mins from the city centre tourist attractions, this modern hotel located in 2 buildings, provides an excellent choice for visitors to Verona. Public Rooms and Bedrooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard. My en-suite, air conditioned room was of a good size , was impeccably clean and had all the expected facilities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Buffet Breakfast offered a good choice of items, sufficient to.satisfy any appetite. Staff are welcoming, polite and helpful. This hotel is good value for money.

Very basic hotel
Hotel is dated and very basic. Room itself was tiny with two barely comfortable beds. Little room to move around and no extras to make one feel comfortable. Useful if you need a hotel room for the opera but by no means would I recommend it. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly. Ok for one night, but no more.

Closeness to old town not as bad as expected
Overall happy with our stay as the old town was only a 20 minutes walk away. The surrounding neighbourhood was not very nice but that is usually expected close to the train station. The breakfast was really good and the main reason for the overall rating of 4.

Solid place if in town for a night
We were doing Italy by train and on a budget - for one night in Verona, this place will do the trick. 5-7 minute walk from the train station - a 10-15 minute walk to downtown and all of the sights and incredible places to eat. You actually check-in at the adjacent hotel - you then walk to your hotel and they will buzz you in from the desk at the other place... Staff was accommodating and helpful. The room was small - but we knew that going in. It had the essentials for people on the move.

Clean but small rooms and rough A/C
There are not many hotels in Verona that are near the train station so if you want to stay near the train station for convenience, then this is an acceptable hotel. It was definitely clean but the beds were a little hard, the rooms were small, and the A/C did not work as well as most American hotel guests would expect. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to some of the attractions in town like the Castle and the arena, but it is also not right next door to the train station either. It is a bit of a walk from the train station, so you might want to opt to walk the other direction and stay at a hotel closer to the attractions.

Clean, convenient, two-star hotel
Hotel was clean, service was fine, quiet room. Very spartan room, not sure how it got a three-star rating (maybe the small tv, wifi, or the hairdryer bumped them up). Wifi was reliable. They did not have an iron to loan me, keep that in mind if on a business trip with dress shirts. It was January, cool at night, and the heater shut off partway through the night (no controls for the heater, it's automatic), woke up freezing. Layered up, then woke up sweating when it turned on again. Maybe not the best room for a cold night. 10 minute walk to the train station, which was convenient.

Ideally located for the train station
Stayed for 2 nights on arrival in Verona and another night before flying home. Reception is next door at the Hotel Martini but breakfast was in the Piccolo. The rooms were clean, a bit on the compact side - but we did have a small terrace!! Only a short walk from the station when you're lugging bags around, and an easy walk to Verona centre in under 15 minutes - but if you're walking all day, along the river and up to Castel San Pietro, and extra few minutes walk makes little difference. We did the opera too. We walked it anyway, but if you prefer, the hotel do a free shuttle to the opera.

We booked the this hotel for the price and we got what we paid for. We had been to Verona earlier in the year when hotel prices were much less and were able to stay near the Arena. Now that it's high tourist season the prices drove us to the outskirts of the old town. The hotel is located within an easy walk from the train station but do not attempt the walk after dark as it's a rough neighborhood. Opt for a taxi at night. The walk to the Arena took us about 30 minutes at a leisurely pace. The room was small. The bed was hard. Some of the lights didn't work. However, the service was friendly and very good and breakfast was great. There is a bar/restaurant located in the hotel but there are no other restaurants in the nearby area.

The 2 hotels next door to each other owned by the same people - and the Piccolo is the better for quality of the rooms. The other one is where I stayed on the first time (depends on how many bookings they have as to whether they spread over the 2 hotels.

Good for a bed and a clean nothing more. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was a bit poorly(and served in next-door Hotel Martini for some reason) but enough food to fill you up! Room was small(a lot smaller than those pictured) and dated but clean, had a small crt tv with an Inter Milan remote! Take good instructions to find the hotel- we got a bit lost! Its quite a long walk into town and you get a bit sick of it after a few times but its straightforward!

Hotel Martini next door is where you have to book in, also where the free drinks are, and where reception is. Piccolo is 'tired', hallway/stairs carpet almost threadbare, the room was small, the shower smelled damp, there was a blanket on the beds - how often would they be washed? It is quite a long walk into town. The cost of the room was not good value for money.

Reasonable hotel well placed for public transport
We were travelling by train so being near the station was helpful. The location was fairly quiet too. The buffet breakfast was pretty good - nothing cooked, but a good selection of cereal, breads, yoghurt, fruit etc. We were expecting tea/coffee making in our room, which didn't exist - this bit of the spec needs to be clarified. The centre of Verona is a little way off, but walkable, and there are buses from the rail station. The airport bus from the station is every 20mins and 6 euro, so you're pretty well placed for public transport generally.
