“Hotel Lucerna - Spotty Service”
The hotel had both pluses and minuses.
Pluses: The driver, Daniel, and the bartender were very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff made some mistakes, but were at the same time accommodating when the mistakes were brought to their attention. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and as advertised. The pool was beautiful.
Minuses: The hotel did not initially recognize the free breakfast package purchased through Expedia, and had to be shown proof before they would accept it. In addition, the package was only for continental breakfast, which was not clearly delineated from the full buffet, which was NOT included. The hotel was at least 20 minutes from the consulate, making it very inconvenient, especially if you forget something and need to run back to the hotel. On at least three occasions we waited over an hour for the return trip, and ended up using taxis at our own expense due to the long wait times. The restaurant food was mediocre and the service, while friendly, was extremely slow. Finally, although there was a jacuzzi/hot tub, the heater did not appear to be functioning and the water was very cold, although the jets did work.
