Great hotel. A little out of the main stream traffic of the city, makes for a quiet stay. Four blocks away from main shopping, food and transportation street. Bus stop at hotel front door. Had a great time once we figured out the bus routes. Differently buy the all day bus tickets.

Great hotel. Sketchy neighbors hood around JapanTown. Beautiful View and rooms! I suggest using the Uber App to get around Frisco...
Overall, great stay! I hate that parking in the hotel cost $52 a day or if u park in the garage underneath $23 a day. Parking for people who stay should be free

I am somewhat familiar with the area. I have logged many miles walking in the vicinity and my priority was to not spend a great deal of time and effort looking for street parking that wouldn't earn me a ticket. There are a number of properties in the area, but off-street parking was the difference maker for me. The property was in a great location. A bus line that runs down near Ghirardelli Square has a stop at Polk and Pacific. A trolley stop is 2 blocks away as well. There is a spot that serves a quick bite for breakfast, right on the corner. I didn't eat there but during my 3-day stay it was fairly busy every morning. I took my daughter and brother the 4 block walk to Toast Eatery for a sit-down breakfast which is more to my liking. As you noticed I had my teenage daughter and my brother with me, so I had a variety of concerns when booking. The property and our room was CLEAN and QUIET. We had plenty of towels, but two main issues. The shower didn't allow you to make the water hot. If you turned the knob towards the hot side, the water got cold, if you turned it to the cold side, the water got cold. When you left it straight up, the water was just warm, and after a long day my back wanted me to be able to choose just how hot I could handle. Having a teenage daughter along, I didn't bother to complain. The mattresses of the cheap inner spring variety and took some getting used to. Location, cleanliness, and quiet. I was pleased based on what I paid.

If you are going to San Francisco for Pride -- or any event located in the Civic Center area -- this is a wonderful location. There is free/limited parking. You can walk to all the great shops/restaurants in Hayes Valley. Free breakfast -- although there are so many nice brunch/breakfast places in walking distance that it isn't needed. Room is clean, comfortable and felt safe. Good TV offerings/reception. Price at this time was very reasonable.

We were happy with our room with the queen bed. It was clean and spacious. The parking nearby is $26/a day which is cheaper than most parking lots in SF. It was also only 1 block away from The Opal Hotel.
