I loved the Craignair Inn, and walking the trails on Clark Island. It was quiet once the group of very loud women left. The food was spectacular, as was my room, with water views out of all three windows. The owners, and all the staff were extremely friendly, and helpful. I would definitely go back!

Beautiful artwork and surroundings. Air conditioner would not work. Rustic and comfortable (except for air). Inn keepers very helpful and friendly. Proximity to Rockland very useful.

We had the most wonderful stay here at the Craignair Inn. From the moment we arrived we were met with incredible hospitality. We had our dog with us and the Inn went above and beyond to make her stay wonderful as well. There were so many touches that made us all feel included, like the vegan food options, the little library of books, and the art on display! Truly a beautiful property and we can’t wait to return!

Hidden Gem: Craignair Inn and Restaurant
The Inn is truly a hidden gem. We only stayed 2 nights, wish we could have stayed much longer! Even though we are amidst pandemic, Greg and Lauren have done an amazing job to make you feel safe and welcomed. The property is well situated, short walk to what seemed like private beach/cove - lovely! The Inn is not fancy, but rather a throw back to earlier, simpler times - Greg prepared a bonfire for us In the evening while we chatted, sampled his hand-crafted cocktails (yum), and shared some laughs. Great gourmet breakfasts; however we missed the restaurant opening by a week :(( I would certainly stay at the Craignair again and look forward to sampling some of Lauren’s homemade ice cream next time! Thank-you!

This is a gem of an inn. I arrived late, but was the only one staying there that night. Greg moved me to a larger room looking over the water. If I am ever in Maine again, I would consider the Craignair! It was a truly wonderful stay with great hosts.

Our stay at this charming inn was wonderful! We stayed in the St. George room which gave us great views of the peninsula. The room and bathroom were extremely clean. The owners made themselves available to answer questions as well as give recommendations for things to do, restaurants, etc. Sadly the restaurant was closed for the season so we couldn't enjoy dinner there but breakfast was delicious with several entrees and sides to choose from. The owners, Greg and Lauren, are a lovely couple and we hope their run as innkeepers is a long, profitable and happy one.

I loved how all of the rooms were different themes/designs. I booked last minute, so there were rooms much nicer than mine which were unavailable. The owners were very helpful and I had great conversation with him, never met her, but I wasn't there much. Lovely porch for sitting, with views of the water. Only two issues I had were: no ceiling fan in my room, as advertised, but the owner got me a table fan and fixed that, and I never read anywhere that my room was on the 3rd floor. This was only a problem for getting my luggage up and down, but it could be problematic for others. Overall a very nice place to stay!

Arrived a bit early but were able to check in. Great quiet location yet close to boat to Mohegan and also Rockport. We were in annex which had AC, not an amenity I thought I would need in Maine but did appreciate. Overheard another guest staying in main lodge without AC. He had never stayed in other than corporate type hotel but found this pleasant and even though days were hot it was comfortable in his room without AC at night. Breakfasts are great, offering quiche to eggs with blueberry pancakes to crab eggs Benedict. We dined in house one evening. Wide range of options, many GF vegan or vegetarian, along with Maine standards. Wine list limited but good. We had scallops-good. Haddock and seafood pasta/good, really rich. Crab cakes good. Clam chowder good. Side vegetables were a good variety, steamed - could use something of interest. Beet hummus nice and spicy, wanted more veggies for dipping. Certainly hope the Clark Islamd Maine Heritage Land Trust deal happens as hiking trail access on nearby Clark Island will be a real plus to this lodging. Maine Heritage Land Trust has until April 2020 to raise funds for this. Your donations help to make this happen. Great lodging, great location, even better with Clark Island access and trails.

We arrived with our pet and they said, "oh my you have a pet, lets see what we can do". I advised them that I already made a reservation and noted that we had a pet with us. I was asked to pay another $84 from my already $210 dollars already charged on my card when I booked online. After this, we were escorted to our room. As soon as we entered, I noticed now HOTTTT it was in there! AND the room had 2 twin size beds! I booked and was charged for a queen size bed! I asked her is there at least a fan for us?? She brought over 2 very small "table size" fans. :/ . Awful sleep experience!!! The next day we went to the FREE breakfast they also advertised online. We ordered breakfast. An hour goes by and we were still waiting! They forgot our order!!! Really?!?!?!?! I went to them and they asked "hmmm. what did you order, I'll double check on this". 20 minutes later, we had our breakfast!

Hi John, thank you for the time to provide your feedback on your stay. It is unfortunate that your experience was not consistent with nearly all of our guests, primarily as you had not booked a pet-friendly room through Hotels.com. The information on hotels.com specifically says: "pet-friendly rooms can be requested by contacting the property at the number on the booking confirmation" which you unfortunately didn't do in advance. This information is then reiterated by our confirmation email you received on 7/18. We shuffled things around the best we could on a very busy weekend during a heatwave in order to accommodate you with our last remaining pet friendly room. This included allowing you to eat breakfast on the patio, with your dog Phoebe. Additionally, Hotels.com does not advertise anywhere that our property is air conditioned. In the future I think it would be better for you and for the property if you would read all of the details or call directly get all of the relevant information prior to booking. We do apologize that your stay was not what you hoped but we assure you that we did the best we could given the situation. We wish you all the best.

We really enjoyed our stay there. One little issue we had was with the lack of vanity space in the bathroom as we didn't have any surface to rest our toiletry items. For the rest, it was truly enjoyable. The walls were a little thin in the Annex so even if your neighboring travelers were just talking, you could hear them, but at this time of year, after the first night, it was pretty quiet. The breakfast was great as was the restaurant's dinner menu. If you have difficulty climbing steps, request a first floor room as the stairs are quite steep.

Stayed here the night before a wedding. Very pleasant facility, wonderful owners working hard to satisfy their clients. I thought it was a good value for the price. Bed was good, shared bathrooms not a problem. Breakfast was tasty, although came as a preconfigured plate.

The room and beds were adequate. We knew going in that the bathrooms were shared. It was not a problem for us. The breakfast was wonderful and abundant. Very picturesque location.

A historic boarding house, decorated beautifully
We enjoyed our stay, and even though we opted not to have a private bath, we had a good experience, a very clean, comfortable room on the third floor (no elevator) with a view of the water. We woke to spectacular early dawn skies from our room and also enjoyed low tide walking at sunrise across the causeway.
