Should be SHUT DOWN - Totally Gross

Posted Oct 7, 2013
Cons: EVERYTHING - or tear it down.
Location: Lakeport is great, and the Mt. Konocti Challenge was really fun.
This place is disgusting! I booked this place to be close to a cycling event taking place. I brought my mother with me, since there was an extra room. When we went to check in, two men were moving a crummy desk into the very tiny waiting area (one without shoes on). I paid an outrageous $116 for the one night. When the door opened, you could immediately smell cigarette smoke (in this non-smoking room). I complained and was told "they can't stop people from doing what they do." The floor was gummy and filthy. When the hostess opened up the couch - which had sweat stains all across it, there was melted crayons and crumbs all over the horrible mattress. There was no clock, no working phone, the fridge froze the contents, the remote and hairdryer were too disgusting to touch, there was hair and stains EVERYWHERE. It was the most disgusting place I had ever been in my life (and I have stayed at many places). There were no other rooms left in town due to the event. I never took my shoes off, and all my clothing went into the dirty clothes bag. It was not long before we realized that all the family members appeared to be living in the other rooms. I am calling my bank today to demand a reverse of the charges. Stay away!

Old hotel but comfy although very small room. Had microwave and refrige on a cart next to the bed. Bathroom old but clean - no special amenities like kleenix. Nice view of Clear Lake and location was convenient. Not usually the place we stay when we visit the area but it was adequate. Best thing was the flat screen TV.

I think for the size of the room, lack of drinking glasses, (had to go to convienience store to buy bottled water) noisy air conditioner, the dollar amount charged was at least $20 a night too much. The room was almost too small for two persons. The bed was very comfortable which made up for some of the lack of room comfort. Hotel location was ok for our needs. However, If others were in need of restraunts, the hotel was on the wrong end of town. Closest restraunt or even fast food was perhaps two miles away. Advertised continental breakfast was one type pastry, coffee (which was always empty) or orange juice.
