Room is very sparse but I only needed a place to sleep and shower for one night...so that's the good part. Bad part....I asked while checking in that I have a non-smoking room and was assured that it was. It wasn't. Woke up the next morning sick. Ladies....no hairdryers! Upon calling the front desk was told that they had 1 but someone hadn't returned it. LOL It's been over 10 years since I've stayed at a hotel that didn't have hairdryers for their customers. It's cheap...but won't stay there again.

This room is taken

Posted Sep 23, 2013
One hour after checking in we heard someone trying to open the door. I guess the staff doesn't keep track of what rooms are already taken. Great!!!

A very poor low cost motel

Posted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Honestly nothing
Cons: Something other than wood on the floors,
Location: Its near the lake, there are plenty of lake based activiites in the area and not too far from the Cleveland airport or downtown Cleveland for baseball
This is a very very low cost hotel. The rate I got and the rate on their bill board was twice as expensive. You could hear every noise from every adjoining room. The floors had no covering at all and were covered with a very cheal low cost wood flooring the creaked and cracked every time you walked on it. If this is America;s Best I would hate to think what America's worst is. The staff was not welcoming or friendly. When I went to get into bed there was a big clump of hair on my pillow and it wasnt mine.

Classic Cheap Motel

Posted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: Pretty sure I saved some money by staying there.
Cons: It pretty much is what it is. It would have to be completely renovated. Faster Internet.. Privacy curtains that let light through.
Location: Walking distance to a MacDonald's and a 7-11/gas station.
If you're looking for that classic cheap hotel experience, you'll find it here. My accommodations here came as part of an Expedia package booked at the last minute, and my usual places to stay in the Mentor area were not available. While the staff was pleasant if a bit gruff, and the room was nice and clean, the place was was clearly built with the cheapest possible code-minimum design option followed at every turn: One fluorescent overhead light, two cheap fluorescent sconces either side of the bed, vinyl flooring, one window that looked out on the parking lot. Tucked in behind a MacDonald's, which I guess would be convenient if you liked that kind of food. The police cruiser swinging through was reassuring. I found the place depressing.

NIGHTMARE

Posted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: EVERYTHING
AFTER 11 AND 1/2 HOURS DRIVING TIME I ARRIVED, UNFORTUNATELY THREE SEPERATE PEOPLE COULD NOT GET THE ELECTRONIC KEY TO OPEN THE DOOR. BECAUSE OF THIS MY ROOM WAS MOVED TO A HANDICAP ROOM. I WENT FROM A KING BED TO HAVING MY FEET HANG OFF THE END OF THE BED BY FOUR INCHES. THE SHOWER WAS ON A SLIDE BAR BUT WOULD NOT STAY UPRIGHT, IT KEEP FALLING DOWN. THE SHOWER WAS LEAKING OUT OF THE SIDE WHERE THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF TWIST KNOB TO THE POINT OF REDUCING THE WATER FLOW SIGNIFICANTLY. THE STAFF SHOWED NO WARMTH THAT ONE MIGHT EXPECT FROM PEOPLE IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY. i ALMOST FORGOT, THE CEILINGS WERE ONLY 7 FEET HIGH!
