“CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL CLEVELAND CITY CENTRE DIRTY DON'T STAY HERE”
Rejected 1st room, food on floor of the room and crumpled toilet paper on the floor. 2nd room still had food scraps on the floor but "appeared cleaner" . I would never stay in any CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL ANYWHERE AGAIN. I was looking forward to staying there and was extremely disappointed.
“What do you expect?”
I've visited downtown Cleveland a couple of times a year for quite a few years. This hotel is conveniently located to access all of the area, it's an urban downtown hotel. If you're not familiar with downtown urban areas you may think this is not a good area - what do you expect a downtown urban area to be? I've never had nor seen any problems on the street. I like Cleveland downtown, the TownCenter is great. I felt secure parking here, had a clean, comfortable well appointed room (for the cost) and had a nice dinner in the restaurant.
“Great hotel and the staff was wonderful!”
We had a great stay here. Our room was very spacious and central to all the sights we wanted to see. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again!
“Not the worst, not the best, but nicer than most!!!”
This hotel is not a "newly built" building and has some signs of wear and tear, but overall it is very nice. The staff was excellent and the proximity to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, E. 4th Street and Progressive Field was very convenient. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Enjoyed my stay very much!!
“Would not recommend”
As a single female business traveler arriving at night, I specifically chose this hotel (as the hotels where I typically stay were fully booked when I tried to reserve a room for a last-minute trip) because it purportedly offered valet parking. However, when I arrived after dark on a weeknight, the valet stand was unmanned and I had to park in a parking garage and carry all of my bags without assistance. The hotel itself is badly in need of remodeling, with shabby carpeting throughout and cheap fixtures. The view from my window was great, overlooking Lake Erie and the football stadium, but there was very little else to recommend it. I would not stay here again.
“Perfect Location”
Many previous reviews noted this hotel was in need of renovation... and it IS in need of a facelift. BUT, you can't beat the location. We walked to the game at the Browns Stadium, we walked to mass at St John's Cathedral, we walked to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We had a great weekend. The breakfast buffet was okay but not great...you may find better elsewhere for less $$...but within walking distance, I'm sure. They were filming the movie, The AVENGERS, so roads were closed or blocked which made it a challenge to drive around. Thank god for GPS! Cleveland has changed a lot since my last visit 15 years ago... but for the better!
“Not a good stay at all”
I arrived at the hotel and could not park in the parking garage, not enough parking for all the guest. what a shame I had to park in another hotels parking garage, the hotel clerk did let me know he was not going to charge me for parking, well thats a good thing. I aske about the shuttle they had or and guess what they dont have it today. The air conditioning in the room was terrible, I could not sleep it was so hot in there. The hotel was terrible I will never stay there again.
“Not impressed”
For a hotel to boast that it is a smoking free environment, I was hit with the stench of cigarette smoking, and no matter how long I tried airing out the room, the smell stayed well into the night. I specifically requested through Expedia to have one bed in both the rooms I reserved, but when getting there, they meant to put us in rooms with two beds in each. Also, some of the lamps didn't work. I had reserved these rooms during Expedia's big sale, so apparently it was a really good deal... not so much.
“Good Hotel”
The hotel staff were uniformly friendly, courteous and helpful. It seemed that there were too few wait staff in the breakfast dining room - management controlling payroll? There were a few minor maintenance tweeks needed in the room - light bulbs, a screw loose at the door - but it was otherwise comfortable. Maintenance was responsive in taking care of the problems. I was disappointed that there was no refrigerator in the room but only for a fee. Overall my stay was good but - just as with the airlines and their baggage and other fees - the economic times seem to be driving the hotels to charge for things that I have come to expect to be included like the refrigerator and parking and to do less preventative maintenance until the customer calls their attention to it. I put these things down to management policies. I would stay there again.
“Hope to visit again soon”
Elevators were confusing and some of them did not work, the hotel was in a great location. The rooms weren't the cleanest, and in need of some updates but I would stay here again.
