Thank goodness I was dressed!

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: The decor is generally good. A gorgeous old hotel which has generally been restored nicely.
Cons: The staff lacks discipline. 2 times, they just walked in. No Knock, No "Room Service!"--They just walked in! Cleanliness is poor and the desk chairs..
Location: It's advertised as being close to Case Western Reserve. The distance listed seems to confirm this. In reality, it's too far to walk--it's about a mile
This is a grand old hotel which suffers from a less than meticulous staff. For the good, there's a lot of beautiful woodwork, metalwork, and I the yellow marble in the bathrooms is absolutely gorgeous. Maintenance is lacking however, and the single-king bed rooms (two that I stayed in) were notably unclean. Our arrival got off to a bad start. There's no bellman, and they have these large, hard to move carts. They brought one out for us, but the very narrow ramp and tight corners makes it very difficult to get into the hotel. I was surprised that they didn't offer to help--maybe they expect cheapskates? The first room we stayed in was better, but the toilet water constantly ran. I guess they don't have engineers on staff as they immediately said they would move us to another room. We had to schlep everything--they didn't even to offer to help. Upon entering the 2nd room, after one night in the first, all I could see was the dust on the floor. These weren't your average dust bunnies, these were rabid man-eaters. The bathroom floors are a textured rubber surface, with raised dots about 3/4" wide. It's kinda gross that the raised dots are gray, as is the floor, where people walk. All around the edges though, it's a grayish white, and the area in front of the shower--there are no shower doors--had an additionally funky appearance. (Stay here and you'll see) The worst part? On 2 occasions, people walked into the room unannounced. No Knock, No "Room Service!"--They just came in.

Location: Cleveland clinic within 5 min walking distance
Wonderful location to the Cleveland clinic...is a nice walking distance, with convenient shuttle to take you to dinner options within a 2 mile radius...without the need of a cab! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Renovated hotel, with old day charm and modern day amenities! And, perfect workout room, with several treadmills, elipticals, free weights, and mats for any kind of workout needed. Enjoy your next stay! PS...free warm chocolate chip warm cookies upon request at the front desk!

we had a friend who had mistaken the date of her reservation at another hotel and the rest of the town was booked up. DT set her up a rollaway in our room at no extra charge. We had a memorial service to attend at 10am followed by a reception which made check out time problematic. DT pushed it to 1pm to accommodate us. The breakfast was outstanding as were all the staff. One of the best hotel experiences I've had anywhere.

Nice hotel with a FABULOUS staff

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Staff and room decor.
Location: Easy walk to Case Western, Art Institute, Botanical Gardens and more.
We were in Cleveland to visit Case Western, and we very much enjoyed our stay at the Tudor Arms. It was an easy walk from the hotel to the campus. Our favorite part of the hotel was the staff. Everyone we dealt with seemed to go out of their way to provide assistance to us and to make our stay extra memorable.

A visit to Cleveland

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: The hotel was built in 1931 as a Tudor style men's club. It has been restored very well. Charming and superb service.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
Location: Great downtown location. Cleveland Clinc, Art Museum, Western Reserve Historical Museum, Case Western Reserve Univ, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and ma
I am originally from Cleveland suburbs. On this visit we decided to stay downtown. We had a great time. Convieient location for visiting Cleveland sites. Restaurant is small and friendly, the meals were very good.

Wonderful stay all around

The staff was amazing. Even when dealing with a family reunion and wedding in the same weekend as our stay, they were prompt and considerate. Only issue was that the bathrooms do not have exhaust fans though there is a second sink for washing

All about access

Pros: Style of the rooms. Loved the hardwood floors instead of carpet, the bathrooms were very nice.
Cons: Service, service, service. And the first room had dirty corners in the bathroom.
Location: Cleveland has a lot of options, we only explored a few.
The key to our room did not work. We got it replaced 4 times in one evening!!! Finally had security come up and they asked us what we wanted to do. We said that we wanted a new room, and it took them an hour to accomplish this. Didn't get to sleep until 1am. Nice facility but the staff is very poorly trained.
