“Fantastic value for the money”

The staff is super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The building used to be an old bank building. They kept a lot of the old architectural details when completely restoring the rooms. There are beautiful wood floors in all the rooms and the hallways; HUGE windows; super high ceilings. My single room was VERY large; lovely towels; both firm and soft comfy pillows. They offer "green" options like choosing not to have your towels and linens changed every day. Did I mention the super friendly staff? I've stayed here three years in a row, and will do so again!

Area recommendations

Downtown is best, with the largest selection of restaurants, it is very vibrant, close to the baseball field.

“Browns Game”

Very nice, large rooms. Great central location in downtown. Close to everything including the Browns stadium.

Area recommendations

Downtown Cleveland has a lot of nice attractions including the Great Lakes Science Center, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, House of Blues, Pickwick & Frolic, and Playhouse Square. The city has had somewhat of a makeover, and is fun to visit during the holidays!

Nightlife

There is plenty to do within walking distance of downtown. I would recommend the House of Blues and Pickwick & Frolic.

“Average Quality”

Stayed for 3 nights. Room clean but the building is not very well maintained. The bed was quite noisy. Had access to a breakfast buffet that covered only the minimal requirements for a meal.

“Charm of its own”

All staff at this hotel could not have been more friendly or helpful. Being that it's located in an old bank building made it all the more interesting. Rooms were very large. Close to downtown attractions. Would definitely come back here.

“Historic building in a central location”

I was surprised to find the Holiday Inn Express housed in the old Cleveland National Bank building. Although there was remodeling going on in the lobby area, my room was clean and spacious with high ceilings, hardwood floors and literally enough space to roller skate. The charm of the the high windows and reclaimed floors makes this property stand out. It's central location in the middle of downtown Cleveland makes it convenient to restaurants and visitor attractions. The wood floors did mean there was more noise that would be typical in a carpeted building and the elevators are small because of the age of the building. I did NOT take advantage of the breakfast since I was going to a meeting, but the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Parking is in the garage around the corner.

“Wouldnt recommend”

I booked this place as it was a holiday Inn and expected a decent quality. Firstly i booked a non smoking room but was given a smoking room and a curt "thats all we have" attitude. They said they will shift me to a non smoking room the following day but i didnt hear from them. The rooms were clean and large but the bed was just a disaster. The springs had pretty much lost all there tension and the bed just sunk in and creaked constantly. Pillows were terrible and I didnt get to sleep at all. The bedside lamp didn't have any bulbs in them. I would not recommend this place.

“very nice stay at this hotel”

we were very satisfied with this hotel,we would recomend it to anyone who needs a hotel in downtown cleveland.the people treated us very good,they were all really helpfull and friendly.

“Don't stay here!!”

I was very excited about this hotel. It looked really nice online and it is in a good location, but the staff is EXTREMELY RUDE and disrespectful. I had an issue with guests in the room next to me, and when I called the front desk for help, the security guard called me on the hotel phone and basically told me there was no issue. I asked for my bed linens to be changed the second night because there were so many stains on the sheets, but it was never done. The food tray in the room had stains on it and the ice bucket was dirty. There were gum and candy wrappers in the room when I checked in, and the walls are paper thin, to the point that I could actually hear the people next door breathing heavily while sleeping. Very disappointing, and while the neighborhood is vibrant, the hotel experience is not worth it when there are so many other hotels on downtown Cleveland.

Area recommendations

Playhouse Square because it is within walking distance to everything in downtown Cleveland.
