“Great location, but not a business hotel”

The Good: Great location. near Rock hall of fame, Browns stadium, the Q for the Cav's and Jacobs field for the Indians. Good restaurants within walking distance (recommend Blue Point Grille). Downtown Cleveland is NOT dead on the weekend. The Bad: The hotel is old. The beds and TV were new, but... it's old. The walls are thin, we could hear people opening and closing their doors. My big complaint...this is situated very nicely and could be a great business hotel. The Rapid comes right into Terminal Tower from the airport but these p0eople have NO, NO, NO wifi in the rooms and the ethernet connection is, as they put it, unstable. I would recommend but NEVER for full price.

“Temperature of room was uncomfortable, but otherwise great hotel.”

We were unable to change the temperature in our own room, which was a bit warm. We ended up having the open the hotel room window to cool down during the night. That added noise and smell (of surrounding Cleveland). Otherwise, loved the location and cleanliness. The front desk staff was very friendly.

Area recommendations
The hotel is close to West 6th and also East 4th. We were able to have dinner and walk around, without being too far from our hotel at the end of the night. Perfect for going to the Browns game or a concert at House of Blues. Public Square looks beautiful at night.

“Reasonable place to stay”

Good location. Front desk and concierge not very helpful for out of town visitors. They were unaware of public transportation and local events, restaurants.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must! Plan many hours and be prepared for nostalgia!

“Nice if you like an old hotel”

Old chairs, old carpet, old smell in air conditioning that doesn't get very cold. Nice bed, nice TV, great room service, great shower. If you get a good deal its a great place to stay, if I had to pay top dollar i wouldnt be impressed.

“Not what I expected.”

The hotel was very busy the weekend that I was there, I was booked for a room with two beds. At check in I was told that only a single was left, and they would bring a roll away bed to the room. After a couple of hours I was told told that they couldn't get a roll away bed for the room. The next morning I informed the hotel I wanted check out. At that time they offered a different room that had two beds. I took the new room and was happy with the rest of my stay. I do feel that the hotel did not do all that they could, to make my stay what I was was billed for.

“Will not go back”

Negative experience! Booked a 2 queen bed non smoking room, paid in full in advance, but went to check in, & they didn't have any rooms matching the description of the one I had paid for in advance. I paid for a 2 queen bed, non smoking, deluxe room, but when I got to the hotel they had only 1 queen bed, very small, & offered us a trundle bed. would have been okay, if I wasn't travelling with 2 other large, male adults, both have ruptured discs in thier backs. If there were no 2 queen bed rooms available when I was booking my room, I would have kept searching for another hotel. What hotel doesn't keep track of the number of rooms they have? Isn't that the job of "booking"? They blamed it on the fact that they had "a few other conferences", so my request couldn't be filled. This happened with a bunch of the other guests checking in at the same time as us. The entire front desk area was full of upset, arguing, angry customers....I'm sure they all were wondering why they overbooked the hotel so badly. They told us, as well as other guests....."I see that's what you requested, but that was only a request, not a guarantee"......EXCUSE ME!!!!! IF I DIDN'T CARE WHAT KIND OF SLEEPING QUARTERS I'D BE IN, I WOULD HAVE BOOKED A ROOM AT A MOTEL. THE REASON FOR BOOKING & PAYING AHEAD OF TIME IS TO GET WHAT YOU ARE SHOWN IS AVAILABLE & NOT BE STUCK MAKING DUE! We had to put the trundle bed blocking our way to get to the bathroom and the door. What a joke. Bathroom also needed cleaning.

“Comfy Beds- thin walls”

This hotel is very clean- the beds are so comfortable, but the walls are very thin- you can hear the people next door. I would stay here again.

“Great Expectations”

I enjoyed my stay. The entire staff was very professional and exceptionally nice. The view of Public Square was awesome, especially during the early morning snowfall. I would have preferred a bathtub instead of a shower because I like soaking in the tub after a long day. Other than that...it was a great experience.

Area recommendations
Cleveland Heights is a nice suburb to visit because of the diverse population, beautiful homes, historical buildings, and recreational parks.
When to go
It's better to visit Cleveland during the Summer. The weather is so much better. It's too cold in the Winter and you risk being stuck due to snowstorms. In addition, it's still rather cold during the Spring.

“Wll located, but needs fixing up inside.”

The Renaissance Cleveland Hotel is well located, but is otherwise in sore need of a facelift. The halls of the hotel smell musty and the heat and air systems in the rooms are antiquated. At the rates charged, the hotel should be ashamed to charge guests extra for wireless internet access. In my case, they were and waived the charge when I raised the issue. The service was otherwise good and the room was quite comfortable.

“As Expected”

Everything was as expected for a hotel of this caliber. There were no surprises or difficulties which is nearly as important as the overall quality of the hotel.
