Such a Gem!

Loved the detail and old charm. A nice alternative to chain hotels. Bathroom is a little small but functional. Would definitely stay here again.

Close proximity to The Cleveland Clinic

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Everything, including the breakfast.
Location: Centrally located for our trip and the cultural experiences abound.
The original part of the hotel complex is an example of what it must have been like for wealthy people of the time. Absolutely beautiful. The doorman, James, was very personable and had a wealth of information about the house and the city of Cleveland.

EXCELLENT STAY DURING TRYING PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCE

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: PROXIMITY TO THE CLEVELAND CLINIC, SIZE, CLEANLINESS, AND SERVICE.
Cons: STREET SURFACES AROUND THE HOTEL(not their fault)
Location: IT IS A GREAT LOCATION FOR ANYONE WISHING TO GO TO SEVERANCE CENTER, THE ART MUSEUM, THE BOTANICAL GARDENS AND LITTLE ITALY.
NEEDED ACCOMMODATIONS WHILE MY WIFE WAS HAVING SURGERY AT THE CLEVELAND CLINIC. WE LIVE 60 MILES AWAY AND THE WEATHER WAS EXTREMELY BAD FOR A COMMUTE. WE WERE MET BY A VERY FRIENDLY CONCIERGE AND THE ACCOMMODATIONS AND SERVICES WERE EXCELLENT. THE BREAKFAST BUFFET AND ROOM SERVICE WERE OUTSTANDING.

Everything a hotel should be!

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Location: Unfortunately, I was in Cleveland because I had an appointment at Cleveland Clinic. However,I saw a couple of museums near by.
I have to say this was the best hotel experience I've ever had. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It also had a bit of old-fashioned charm that I really loved! And at a better price than comparable hotels in the area. A great value!

Convenient location, easy parking, great staff

Posted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Courteous, knowledgeable staff, upscale ambience, historically interesting as it was once the Glidden Family estate. Good food, helpful staff.
Cons: We didn't really need it, but the availability of a bellhop would have been nice.
Location: Very convenient to Case-Western Reserve University, Severance Hall, and the Cleveland Museum of Art and environs. Easy to visit Little Italy, Shaker
We were visiting family in Cleveland Heights and the location and parking made this an ideal location. All staff were very helpful, and the included breakfast was tasty and well prepared.

Outstanding Hotel Staff Made Our Stay!

Posted Feb 14, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff, ambience - small, intimate feeling of hotel.
Cons: Different options to have access to restaurants (room service closes early)
Location: Perfect location if you have children who attend Case Western Reserve - I'm able to walk all around campus, and there are coffee houses, etc.nearby
Since my daughters attend Case Western Reserve University, we have stayed at the Glidden House on a few occasions, and the visits have always been pleasant. This time, however, was during a horrible snow storm - My daughter came to pick me up and her car had a flat tire right in the hotel driveway. The staff were so understanding and were never upset while the car stayed there until my Roadway Assistance finally came to fix the car (about 8 hours later) The front desk staff were always helpful, but a special KUDOS goes out to the bellmen - who continually checked on us, tried to find other auto service providers, and even gave us tea while we waited (Note: we had already checked out)! The Glidden House staff made a horrible day much more tolerable! Our next trip will certainly include a stay at the Glidden. Thank you!!

A nice home away from home feel. Very comforting atmosphere after a long day at the nearby Cleveland Clinic. Very helpful staff!
