“Nice”
Good location
“Cleveland”
Great service, great location.
“Enjoyable Stay”
Perfect location to attend events at Playhouse Square - - Just a short walk!. Top notch service from Parking Valet to Front Desk to Room Service personnel. Plan to pay $20 for Valet parking but worth it for the convenience. Be sure to book hotel restaurant reservations in advance. It was completely booked because of weekend Playhouse events when we tried to get a table that evening. There was also no available seating in adjacent bar area. However, we did enjoy the same meal in our room. Other than a longer than normal wait for room service food (which was no problem for us), the food was absolutely delicious! We will make sure to have reservations next stay. FYI - They also have no complimentary breakfast at this hotel. Highly Recommend Wyndham at Playhouse Square.
“GREAT”
Very Pleased
“Don't expect luxury”
Overall the staff was pleasant and the hotel gave off a pleasant vibe. There were some definite issues, however. The carpet was stained, the comforter had a blood stain on it, the room was very hot and would not cool down, there was a notepad that had clearly been used as a coaster and a pen with a very chewed cap waiting for us on the nightstand upon arrival. We went to check out the pool and the paint was peeling, the pool looked rusty, and there was a mysterious lack of chlorine smell. Don't expect luxury.
“does the job”
i was satisfied with the hotel, but not enthusiastic. the staff was helpful, the room was good sized and had all the essentials. big cigarette burn on the duvet was not pretty, but it didn't seem dirty, just old and abused. the room was clean, and for the most part the entire hotel was lacking in any significant character or distinction (good or bad). the location is walkable to most downtown areas of interest, but the hotel itself is in a desolate stretch of empty buildings and closed up storefronts. the hotel was full of wedding parties when i stayed- i worried at first this was going to mean all night parties and merrymaking, but it wasn't as bad as i'd feared and i slept pretty well both weekend nights. the gym was tiny, but had the basics covered, and i love bad TV while i work out!
“Convenient location.”
The hotel room was comfortable; the hotel staff were helpful and courteous; the location was convenient for the activities we were interested in. Additionally, the shuttle service made getting around pleasant, with a minimum of hassle.
“I recommend this hotel, the staff is pleasant, the rooms are clean and the food and drink are good.”
This is one of the better places to stay in Cleveland. The rooms were clean and fully furnished, the staff offered additional amenities such as a fridge and a nice large umbrella for a stroll to the nearby hotspots. I believe that they will automatically charge for valet parking, just go ahead and accept it, because there is no convenient free parking to be found. Good eats, good bar. Had a really nice stay. PS: I opted for a king bed which comes with a nice desk.
“Great location, first class accomodations”
This is a great place to stay if you need a big city fix. In the heart of downtown Cleveland, within walking distance of almost everything you'd want to do, and on the E trolley line for going to other places. The staff is very professional, but not snooty, and the business center has two computers and free printing. The only thing you might want to be warned about is that parking is expensive if they park your car, or a little less expensive if you take your car to either of the parking garages available. So count this as part of what you will spend for your room.
“Wyndham - Overpriced and Underserviced”
there are pluses and minuses to this hotel, unfortunately, the minuses outweigh the pluses. On the good side, the hotel has a nice restaurant, pool and workout facility as well as free wi-fi. On the minus side, if you get double beds, don't expect a desk in your room. The carpet was filthy, the sink broken and the tub had caulk coming out. Maintenance was poor. We had a broken alarm clock that was replaced by another broken alarm clock. Room service was late. the location is marginal unless you want to be near Cleveland State which is within walking distance. The area lacks for good restaurants on the Cleveland State side of things while there are plenty of good restaurants the other direction in walking distance. valet is $20/day + tip, but there is plenty of parking elsewhere for $10/day. There are better choices.
