Comfortable Accommodations

Posted Jun 12, 2014
After a long drive in pouring rain, we decided to pull off the road in Clinton, NJ. It was 9 pm and we were both hungry and tired. We were able to make last minute reservations through Expedia. When we arrived at the hotel we were happy to learn the restaurant served until 10. We were even more delighted when we met our waiter, Boulis, who made us feel extremely welcome as he served us one of the most unexpected and delicious dinners one could imagine. He is the gem that makes this hotel shine. Thank you, Boulis.

Pleasant, with some shocks.

Posted Jun 6, 2014
Pros: Location. General design.
Cons: Maintenance. One of the luggage trolleys was coming apart. I repaired a loose door plate, using a screwdriver.
Location: Best nearby site is the Clinton Station Diner.
We were stopping only for one night. The first impression was good—stylish layout—but up close there was some shoddiness. Having been used to free breakfasts at other hotels (and not paying close attention) we were surprised to be billed $10 apiece for what was (to be fair) an excellent breakfast—but at best a pleasant shock.

Dear Adam, I am so glad that you enjoyed our hotel., We are sorry that you were surprised at the charge for breakfast. Being that we are a full service hotel , meaning we have banquets facilities and a full nightclub and restaurant . We do charge for breakfast as it is a full hot buffet with omelet station cook to order items. It is a Holiday Inn standard that we have a full menu to offer as well as a buffet and it not a limited complimentary breakfast. I am sorry if it took you by surprise. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again soon. Best Regards, Michelle Satanik General Manager

Cold Pool / Poor Service / Loud

Posted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
We booked this hotel for a Saturday night, on our way to the Crayola Factory with the kids and also with another family. We thought we could relax and then head over in the morning. Unfortunately, the indoor pool is not heated and was freezing, too cold for my two-year old, so we weren't able to spend as much time there as we would like. Next we had dinner in the hotel restaurant - Oase Grille. There was a Sweet 16 going on in the party room with loud music adjacent to the restaurant. The restaurant then gave us only three options for our entrees, which we are pretty sure were the entrees being served at the Sweet 16. The food was pretty good. We had a Groupon for the adult meals (since kids eat free at the Holiday Inn) - however, they said if we used the Groupon, then we had to pay for the kids. We waited 45 minutes for the manager to come and resolve the situation. Also - don't book a pool-side suite! You are literally overlooking the pool and it is noisy. They turn the pool lights off at 10pm and make everyone leaves but it was really really loud until then.

Hotel is very nice!

Posted Apr 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
I was very surprised by the quality if the hotel. They have a nice bar and restaurant area down stairs and a fire pit area outside. The town of Clinton is very close, and is a quiet town that is great for a get away from the city. The manager at the desk was very nice too and helped resolve an issue with my room. The room was very clean and I slept like a champ that night. I would definitely use the hotel again.

Nice, Clean Hotel

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: Large indoor swimming pool and kids eat free :)
Location: Not really sure about other things to do nearby, but a quaint Main Street area.
Went there for an overnight with my 9 year old daughter to enjoy nearby horseback riding. Hotel is close to Main Street which is lined with cute shops and restaurants, but they close by 5pm. Rural area. close to Walmart and Shoprite as well as a Craker Barrel restaurant, and right off of route 78. Good for what we needed it for.

Decent place an hour out of NYC

Posted Apr 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
I've stayed here a few different times on my way in or out of NYC. Only an hour out of the city, it's an affordable alternative just off the interstate. Staff have been friendly. The condition of the hotel is fairly good--a little tired in some areas but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet. One warning: disco bar on weekends is very loud.

Upgraded

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: clean and comfortable
Cons: food
Location: there isn't anything near by - you need to have a car. the hotel does not provide any type of transportaion.
I stay here every year. We about two hours aways - my husband spends the day with the guys (fantasty baseball) and I spend the day in the hotel. Breakfast has improved by 100%, i would not even consider eating at the hotel - will have to give dinner a chance next year (made reservations elsewhere). The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Younger staff members were very very pleasant..... free wifi codes did not work and would love if lunch was offered somewhere. very clean and I really enjoyed my stay.

A nice place to stay for both short + long stays

Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: Convenient to anything going on in Clinton. Nicely decorated with local items from Hunterdon County. Will stay there again.
Cons: All was fine, just some noisy patrons in the hall, which the hotel can't help
Location: Clinton Historical Museum and Hunterdon Art Center, as well as shops on Main Street
This was a short stay for a family get together, and we've stayed here for up to a week at a time when we lived far out of the area. Nice and clean with a relaxing indoor pool. The front desk staff was excellent. I discovered there was no frig in the room, which I needed for medication and they had one delivered in a very short period of time. Easy access on and off I-78
