Nice hotel close to the beachPosted Jul 31, 2015
Pros: Sea views
Cons: Dusting of rooms
Location: Situated close to the beach
A couple of points...Our room was very dusty but when we pointed it out was corrected the following morning. As a vegetarian staying for 6 nights I struggled with menu options in the bar and restaurant .. Everything else was excellent ....

Great hotel in a beautiful setting.Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: The setting, the friendliness of all staff,
Cons: Temperature control of the bedroom.
Location: Beech, surfing, walks, a relaxing atmosphere.
This hotel was excellent from our arrival to departure. We received an Irish Mist on arrival which was complimentary, a nice touch, our bedroom over looked the beech and was very comfortable. The food was fabulous in the bar as was breakfast each morning. All staff met you with a smile, everyone was pleasant and very helpful.

A 2 night break to celebrate our Silver Wedding.Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: The Location, our beautiful sea view room and the food.
Cons: Dedicated areas for family dining and the choice of somewhere quieter and more elegant would be fitting with a hotel of this standard and location.
Location: The hotel is situated on the most stunning beach with walks for miles. The nearest town is Clonakilty which has great shopping and dining available.
Our overall experience was good but disappointing. The location of the hotel is the key selling point - it is truly breath-taking. Open views and direct access to miles of sandy beaches - the location is truly fabulous. We were unlucky with the weather and so the hotel was full of families who were staying in the adjoining apartments. From the website and details we read we had no idea that there were so many apartments. The bar area served food (which was excellent) but we found it quite small and with several high chairs and tables pushed together with families it was noisy and felt cramped. Not the dream we had of the of the magical hotel break we had been waiting for. The pool again was full with children and families in general - we didn't even attempt to use it during our stay. We felt the main restaurant lacked the ambiance of fine dining. The décor is modern, light and airy with lots of natural wood etc - more in keeping for its use for the breakfast service. We were extremely disappointed that there wasn't any entertainment at all - I know we stayed on a Monday and Tuesday but it was July - high season - and there was nothing happening in the hotel at all. There was a beautiful grand piano in the residents bar but again no one to play. Having reflected on our stay I would grade the hotel 3-4 star with the target market being families.

pool left me pain free after travelling a lot :-)Posted May 3, 2015 on Hotels
working around the country and this is without doubt the nicest hotel I ever stayed in. I broke my back a few months ago and trying to get my business up and running again. I went into the pool and came out pain free. I would like to stay here every time i am in the cork/ Munster area. Big thank you

Great location. Nice touch with complimentary drink on arrival and food gift on departure. Suprised that on arrival or during stat that no information was volunteered re spa facilities. Dissapointed that the casual bar has exterior wall that blocks the ocean view - visible only from restaurant, breakfast room and upstairs bar.

Excellent hotel let down by its kitchenPosted Apr 15, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel is superbly located overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and flanked by two sandy beaches. Hotel staff and facilities are 5-star. The hotel is excellent for kids but was overrun by them during our stay. In fact the dining room was more like a nursery! The only negative aspect of the hotel is the very average food available for dinner in the restaurant: small portions, tasteless, almost no vegetables. Wine selection good though.

Beautiful location, very friendly staffsPosted Apr 15, 2015 on Hotels
Pros: Beautiful location (especially for a wedding) Friendly staffs Food is very good too Residents lounge is perfect for a lazy day enjoying the scenery outside Spa and Massage options available are brilliant There is no short of other facilities (Children's lounge, snooker room, swimming pool (with jets) and sauna/steam rooms Cons: Room is cleaned too many times in a day to my liking (once is enough - but felt more like 2/3 times at Inchydoney) Service at pub and restaurant is quite slow when it's packed or free which is very odd.
