Wonderful stay

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Arrived at 2 am - staff helped with bags, room AC was already on for us, water & mints on desk when we arrived. Clean, comfortable beds & pillows... Had two rooms, both were very nice. Decor was nice - interesting framed photos...loved the stay!

Super 8 was a disappointment.

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: The breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: The hotel needs to do a better job of maintaining their facilities and putting current guests first or they'll lose clients like me forever.
Location: There are several food places close. We were simply passing through.
After booking on-line my family arrived to check in and were pleasantly greeted and handed a key to room 121. We booked a non-smoking (necessary due to severe asthmatic rx to cigarette smoke) double queen room and moved our luggage into the room. My wife noted that the toilet was running when she showered (she never used it) and then later my son used it to urinate and it flooded as it was clogged from the prior guest and flushed with a too-full tank... Instant flood. I went to the front desk to explain the issue and was offered room 124. I walked down to 124 with the newly issued key and found it to be a smoking room. The clerk apologized, said she understood the allergy issue and sent me to 125... Again I walked to the new room and again I found it to be another smoked in room. Both 124 and 125 did not have the no-smoking sign on the door. I again went back to the front office and was sent upstairs to 221, a room that was smoke free and nice except the shower faucet ran continually and couldn't be shut off. Clearly this establishment could use some attention by a plumber and could also save a ton of water in a drought stricken area. I would not have an issue if the clerk had simply put me in 221 first, but I felt that she was saving it for a possible non-smoking client as they were pretty booked. My family was tired from a week long backpacking trip and I simply wanted to treat them to the luxury of a clean room, working facilities, and a comfortable bed without issues.

I want to begin to apologize about your recent stay with us. I assure you these are not the standards that myself, the owner or Super 8 go by. I talked to my staff and I can guarantee this will not happen again. Our rooms should be check everyday to make sure these problems do not happen again. My maintenance staff also should be going in the rooms as part of a preventative maintenance plan that we have in place. Please accept my deepest apologies and we look forward to seeing you in the future.

Hotel description was not accurate

Posted Jun 19, 2015
We booked s room with 2 beds and a sleeper sofa as there was 5 of us. When I arrived it seemed as though they were having an issue finding my room. I verified with the employee that it was suppose to be 2 beds and a sofa.... We got into the room there was no sofa. I went to the desk and was informed the do not have sleeper sofas in any of their rooms. We had to just deal with it since it was midnight and I had 3 tired kids. When I went to checkout the next morning the desk person could not find me in the computer. I told her of the issue with checking in and the beds and she said she would look so more and email me. I never heard anything.

I want to apologize for the mix up in your room. We do have sleeper sofas in the rooms. I talked to the attendant that helped you out and she was still unsure which rooms had them. I will assure that this does not happen in the future. We developed a list of each room and the items (furniture) that they have so there is no more guessing or mix up. I want to once again apologize for the inconvenience.

Clean, quiet and comfortable.

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Super clean, hot breakfast served in a very clean area.
Cons: Locating the hotel was a bit confusing because it is no longer the Red Lion.
Location: Located on the main highway with many places to eat nearby makes this an easy find. Clovis has evolved into one of the cleanest towns I've stayed in.
We had a great stay here. It was clean, one of the cleanest hotels I've been to. It was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. We adjusted the thermostat to optimum sleep temperatures and had a wonderful nights sleep. The breakfast was ready and on time. It was hot and everything was available and ready to go. Very clean serving area. One of the cleanest 3 star hotels I've been to. The only down side is the railroad track that runs all night across the street. But don't think another hotel will get you away from that because they are all on the same street right across from the tracks. We kept the fan going on our heat/air unit and it muffled the noise sufficiently. We will definitely stay again. Oh, and its no longer the Red Lion. I believe it will now be under Super 8. So without the address, we would not have found it as the Red Lion sign is down.

Good for the money

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Low price and clean rooms.
Cons: Better signage and some features in the room are brand new, but some are worn.
If you are looking for all the amenities this is not the hotel for you! If you want a clean place to stay the night then you found it! The major problem is finding it. the Red Roof sign keeps blowing up onto the roof and all that you see is Clovis Suites and Inn! I had to ask at another hotel where to find this one! The cahnge to Red Roof was fairly recent (I am writing this in March of 2015) so there is only a temporary sign.
