“"Will definitely go back"”

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Spoilt by the weather! Hottest day in England was cold and wet in Clydebank! Went to Scotland for the unveiling of the 'Lancastrian Memorial' in the grounds. Staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough for you, food was wonderful, wish I had stayed longer. Looking forward to visiting again when the sun is shining:)

“Gateway to the Lochs”

This hotel is well positioned, a short train ride to Glasgow (don't drive there)& 20 minutes from Loch Lomond. The beds were the most comfortable that I have experienced away from home. The down side is no restaurants worth considering in Dalmuir (local town)which is run-down & you can smell the sewage farm. The hotel's menus are the same all the time so not suitable for a stay of more than a couple of nights.

“Beardmore”

The hotel was wonderful and very comfortable. The towels were very fluffy and large, and the shower pressure was great. It was really helpful to have access to the internet. I had trouble reading the map on the website, as it was too small to decipher the words, and too blurry when made larger. I was able to find the hotel easily and the walk from the train station was not bad. My other frustration was that it was advertised as offering shuttle service to the airport, and that seems to not be available at all times. I would have enjoyed a longer stay and the chance to use the pool and other amenities. It was a very reasonably priced and someplace I would return.

“Calm, Sanatorium of a Hotel”

Having recently stayed in a Hilton Hotel in London it is easy to make a comparison, The Beardmore was cleaner, smarter, the staff more attentive...we were uncomfortable with the "no tipping" proceedure because we felt that the staff deserved a tip for their service. The only thing that made the Hotel seem "odd" was the quiet stillness of the place and this was over a 4 day stay from 28th Dec?!?! For those who enjoy big rooms - big areas - and good straight forward service,this is the Hotel for you! It is neither quaint, nor quirky-Americans eat your heart out! The recent history of this Hotel needs to be publicised,it was worth a visit just for that alone. Its historical creation is palpabal!

“Bad Bed”

This hotel offers free Internet which is a big plus to me. The room service meal was just excellent. And a wonderful shower. However, the sheets on the bed had been washed with 'perfumed' soap that was so strong that I had to sleep on top of the bed and not between the sheets. The mattress was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. It was puckered / pillowed (not the soft top kind) so dramatically that I could not find a position of any comfort. In the end, I took the duvet, folded it in half, slept on top of that so I had some padding and put the bedspread on top of me. I am not a complainer and sleep in 200+ hotel rooms a year. I won't be going back.
