“I walked out and did not stay the night”
Filthy sheets, filthy towels, dirty floors, abusive manager. I was shown a total of three rooms after rejecting the first one. The bed had hairs in and on it, the second room was no better, by the time I got to the third one, the one with mold growing on the wall, I called it a day.
The duty manager who was charming unfortunately called the manager and this conversation did not go well. The manager insisted on speaking to me on the phone and complained about how 'difficult' I was and how his hotel had bent over backwards (his words) to provide a good service....yes, the picked me up from the airport...big deal!
This hotel was abysmal and I would not recommend it to anyone. An Australian guest confessed to having gone out to buy himself towels and a pillow as he could not afford to upgrade to a different hotel and had pre-paid.
The bad state of the rooms was surpassed by the aggression and rudeness of the manager. I remained calm, polite but firm. Eventually I simply hung up on him as he 'insisted' I stay in in his hotel as he was offering 'perfect' service. Goodness, what an experience!
