“BEST HOTEL IN COCHIN!”
Great location! Right in the corner of an island, The Taj Malabar has one of the best views in Kerala! The Spa is fantastic with a wide range of ayurvedic massages. For those who wants a busy neighborhood, I do not recomend..
“Crunkin in Cochin”
Very helpful staff in all departments from room service to travel advisors. Amazing facilities and rooms. Avoid the astronomically over priced laundry service though - best cleaning your gruds in the bath the hanging them of the ceiling fans! Great Buffet, but the fish restaurant was distinctly average for a 5- star hotel. Cocktails proved to be better value for money than shorts. Disappointed I didn't get chance to use the spa and gym facilities as these looked excellent.
“Great Facility”
Excellent facilty for a quiet stay. A bit from the city but that may not be a bad thing at the end of the day. Rooms are clean and adequate. Good excercise facility and swimming pool. Food in restaurants are expensive and ordinary and you are better off going into town for dinner.
“Indias special hotel in Kerala”
The staff in the hotel was exceptional, anything you needed they were able to accomodate us with. I would highly recommend this hotel.
“Memories of days gone by!”
An excellent hotel in a prime location over looking the water/harbour. Check in was simple, and we got a fantastic corner room on the 4th floor overlooking the harbour. Service is generally good, but after travelling in india for a few weeks, not 5star. The staff means well, but further training is required. The Rice boat restaurant although quaint and nicely appointed, is terribly expensive for what you get. The free afternoon tea is a nice touch, and so is the free sunset boat cruise which is daily. Pool is wonderful and the spa is also worth checking out.
“Very classy place”
Taj means luxury when it comes to hotels. I was overall very pleased with my stay here. Upon check in I couldn't get the dvd player to work and they sent up a technician as soon as I called. My room looked out onto the water and it was great. Architecture in the hotel was very nicely done. Spa and pool were both staffed with helpful folks. The restaurants were all delicious. I especially recommend the Rice Boat, the service, the food and the atmosphere were all great.

“Better for business travellers”
Taj Malabar is a nice-ish 5 star hotel, with all of the extras that you would expect from a 5-star and the Taj brand. However, I would recommend it only to business travellers, as the place lacks soul, is very inconveniently placed amongst the cargo ports on Willingdon Island, the service is pretty poor, and the food is less than impressive - actually, it was quite bad. A much better choice is to stay on Fort Cochin, in the Hotel Arches, where the rooms are very similar to the Taj, but the service is much more personal and much better value. We spent 3 nights in the Taj, and 6 further in Arches. My feelings about Taj Malabar are only luke-warm.
