“CLOSE TO BUFFALO BILL CODY MUSEUM”
This was a very comfortable hotel, less than 2 blocks to the museum (which is a 2-day experience). An obviously older place, built in a "motor-court" style but the rooms are very nice and also clean. Only drawback is the shower: it is beautifully tiled and clean but very small. Right next door to a good "diner-style" restaurant (the Sunset also) serving good, hearty food. There is a new Best Western being built but not sure if it will be a new location for the current Sunset Motor Inn. The rates were so very reasonable at this site but imagine they will be substantially higher if relocated to the new building.
“Unsafe stay with broken window”
I was extremely disappointed that the Cody, Wyoming Best Western during a recent stay at the hotel. After I checked into my ground floor room on September 24th, 2011, I noticed that the window lock was missing. I was extra careful since I am female and travelled alone. Moreover ground floor is more accessible to the public. I notified the front desk clerk, Linda of the missing window lock and specifically stated my concerns sleeping in room where the windows cannot be locked. However, instead of offering me another room, she simply took two pieces of wood and laid them next to the window as a temporary fix to prevent the window from opening. The window can still be open as the 2 pieces of wood didn't fit tightly together with a two inch gap between them. In addition they weren't taped to the window pane and would easily fall when disturbed. She informed me that it was a maintenance department issue and it was not her job to resolve the problem. Needless to say, I was unable to sleep peacefully that night fearing for my safety. In the morning, I spoke with Eric at the front desk regarding this issue and he informed me that he was on maintenance call the previous night and could not understand why Linda did not contact him to resolve the missing window lock problem. I had taken photos of my hotel room’s unlatched window, too bad I can't attached it here. I would like an explanation as to why Best Western would put profit over customer safety.
“Train the front desk”
I called to correct a mixup in the reservation ( my fault ) and the person I spoke to was very helpful, so I expected the same friendliness when I got there. I found I could get the friendliness if I pulled it out of them. I asked, for example, if they could recommend the trolley tour - and the answer was "I don't know - I've never ridden it." Only when I cajoled that individual did she begin to become helpful. Is that customer service? Room was very fine, it was close to the main attraction in town if not the downtown itself, and my front desk helper got better when advising me on the best way to visit that attraction - the Buffalo Bill Museum. Neat little town, but you gotta work the front desk to get results.
“It'll do”
This is an older hotel with exterior entry doors. The room was basic, but did have a mini-fridge. I had limited interaction with staff, but they seemed fine. The only real issue I had was all of there info cards said the breakfast ended at 10 AM. On Saturday morning I went to the breakfast area at 9:35 and was told breakfast was over, it ends at 9:30. The attendant was nice enough to let me make a waffle and grab some juice before she shut everything down, but it just seems these kind of thing should have been made clear at check in. The surrounding area is rather empty; the "golden arches" are on the corner and there is a pancake house just up the street but that's really it. If you just need a place to stay for the night, like the title said-it'll do.
“convenient location but noisy”
When we walked into our room we were overcome by deodorizers which penetrated our clothing. (I'm not fond of strong perfume smells.) The room itself, with one queen size bed, was quite small by normal standards but at least it was very clean. The biggest issue we had was with the majority of the clientele being Harley riders so it was very noisy... not the people they were friendly and reasonably quiet, I'm referring to their bikes. :>) We usually go to bed early and rise early so bikes coming in after 9pm was a bit irritating.
“Nice and comfortable”
It did take longer to get into and out of Yellowstone. But Cody was on the the way to our next stop at Mt Rushmore.
“All was well but for the smell”
A nice old motel with pretty grounds, nice playground and pools. It has been remodeled but with the old layout the ventilation is poor (no windows in the back so no cross air flow). Our room had a very powerful smell/odor of acetone. The staff were friendly and tired to accommodate us but alas housekeeping use a very strong air freshener that we found very displeasing--we learned this after an alternate room smelled the same. Standard BWI breakfast with waffle maker, egg-cheesy omlet and sausage patties with assortment of breads and cereals. Breakfast room was very small so we ate outside. The fitness room was really old and dated and there were no towels for guests there. A nice looking place but I'm glad we were there for only one night.
“Affordable and really nice”
the bed was incredibly comfy, good free breakfast, internet & printer access. great place to stay, close to Stampede Park, the Irma, downtown, Buffalo Bill museum, everything. great hotel, i'd stay there again.
“Nice Lodging”
Facilities and Room were in excellent condition. We were able to call and add an additional night to our reservation with no problem even though a busy weekend was coming up. Only suggestion would be a little larger breakfast area or extended times. The room got quite crowded and people had to scramble for a table during the last hour. We would definitely stay here again.
“The best room of the trip”
I enjoyed everything about this motel. The room and bed were very comfortable. The pool and hot spa were great. The restaurant was very convenient. The free breakfast was very satisfying. It was the best of my 7 hotel/motel trip.
