we only stayed in the room about two hours. They insisted we pay for two nights even though we told them at check in we only wanted one night. The room we stayed in was hot and air conditioeer did not work.

Neglected to mention: Reservation was for 2 nights Threatened Front Desk Agent or to leave the lobby until I arrived. Intimidation and bullying are not strong points. AC was in working order and was fine once I turned the heat off, but then again, your companion said she had "worked in the industry" so perhaps it was one of the tricks she learned.

It was great to be welcomed with maps for rides, an area with rags to wash bikes, and suggestions for good food.

Less than what I expected.

Pros: The people at the desk were helpful and nice. The shower worked.
Cons: Level and rebuild!
Location: We were touring Yellowstone Park.
I booked the hotel on Expedia the day before we arrived. I assumed based on the price of the room it would be clean and pretty basic. I was a little hesitant when we drove up. The room had a window mounted air conditioner, it was loud. The sheets smelled like smoke. The rug was dirty. There was not a clock in the room. The TV was ancient. The phone was a decoration as it didn't work. When we checked in the people at the desk said we were checking into the best unit in the place. They said the shower in the unit was good. We made it though the night and checked out the next morning.

Cons: not enough electric outlets couldn't plug in fridge and air conditioner
Location: close to downtown and restraunts
Nice visit to area Very pricey hotel that is very dated

True, we are a vintage motel. This is our 3rd season owning it and the updating is an evolving process. Our rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and $50 less than our direct competition.

Good value for the area

Pros: It was very clean and we loved the owners.
Cons: Parking was free but very small spots.
Location: Close to East entrance to Yellowstone and for a very scenic drive along the Beartooth highway which we would definitely recommend. Rodeo was fun too!
We were a bit unsure when we arrived but then we went inside the lobby where we were met by the friendly and helpful owners to welcome us. A great value for a basic old fashioned motel. It would not be suitable for an extended stay but a great place for an overnight or two being very convenient to Yellowstone and other surrounding areas. The owners were so helpful in advising us on where to go and what to see. It was quiet and convenient. Not a lot of amenities but very clean which is most important. And the owners made it all worth it!

Budget Host

Pros: The cleanliness, and friendly staff.
Cons: If it works, don't mess with a good thing.
Location: Location was excellent. Out of the way just enough, yet close enough to places to eat, and the Buffalo Bill Museum.
My overall experience with Budget Host Inn, was very pleasing. The room was very clean, easy access, good location, and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.

Well placed for the centre of Cody

Pros: Simplicity, friendliness. And convenience.
Cons: Beds a bit on the thin side, but not too bad
Location: Cody- 9000 people and 5 gunships between them. Buffalo Bill museum now rated the best in the world, and deserves all the accolades. A must!,
Basic hotel in a good position within walking distance of the centre of town. Warm and inviting with welcoming owners. Nice quiet location away from the gunfights, stampedes and horse auctions. One thing you can say about Cody is that it is never dull.
