A unique experiencePosted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: The room was clean and had a unique décor.
Location: They had a rodeo going on.
The sheets were to small for the bed. It had wooden wedges to secure the door. It was clean.

Never have stayed in such a dirty place.Posted Jul 24, 2014
Location: that really didn't matter because it was a miserable place. I should have walked out, but I was there for a funeral and fair was in town.
Greeted by a couple of teens that were talking to each other, had piercings, and didn't stand up to talk to me. The bathroom was filthy, hair in the bathtub, dried pee at the bottom of the toilet. The hallway had chunks of mud all over, and it wasn't wet out. The pillows look at least ten years old, flat as a pancake. I have never stayed in a super 8 as bad as this. The pictures online make it look nice. Don 't be fooled!

Could have been betterPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The mattress was quite comfortable and I would say the best thing in the room. The staff was friendly and the place was easy to find.
Cons: The chairs, pillows, bedspread, cleanliness, and carpet.
Location: There was a gun show in Cody just 20 miles away along with nightly rodeos. Powell does seem like a nice quiet town overall.
For a suite (not my idea) it was a disappointment. The chairs in the room were very uncomfortable. The bedspread was in need of replacement along with the pillows. The towels were thin and there could have been more because there was a Jacuzzi in the room. I do hope they cleaned it out once we left. I would also say they need to check the windows for dead flies and maybe give the windows a good washing. There were loud people outside that interrupted our sleep the last night we stayed there. The breakfast was good and quite adequate. Overall the place was in need of a good renovation.

Old hotel in need of a face liftPosted Jul 19, 2014
Location: the one good thing was the collage Rodeo was on that week we stayed and gave us somewhere to go
the room was drab and needed a good clean, the receptions look as if some one was living there, the breakfast was a bit of a lottery what was available

4th of July VacationPosted Jul 12, 2014
Location: Near Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park
Easy to locate. Arrived late so was a short stay, but the staff was very helpful and friendly; good breakfast in morning before checking out.

DirtyPosted Jul 12, 2014
Wasn't vacuumed, sheets were dirty, fridge didn't work, but they did replace it. The next morning the cleaning staff were to busy standing in the hall talking to clean rooms which is probably why ours was filthy.

Very disappointing experiencePosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The free breakfast was adequate. They had a variety of items including hot biscuits and gravy.
Cons: Hotel owership needs to take a little pride in the facility and get it up to a reasonable standard. Either that or they need to charge much less.
Location: Little to do in Powell, Wyoming on a Saturday night over a holiday weekend. Only found one local restaurant open (Chinese) other than fast food.
I guess it was what we should've expected for a Super 8 in an out of the way part of Wyoming? The entire experience was disappointing. We felt sorry for the staff. They acted admirably for having to work in a facility it was obvious ownership had no intention of keeping up with. These girls seemed overwhelmed and unempowered to help any of the guests we saw having issues. Specifically for our group which included three senior citizens - including one with diabetes, the air conditioners in both of the rooms we reserved did not work. They blew out only warm air on a 90 degree day. When contacted, the front desk suggested we keep the thermostats above 62 because they tended to freeze up if set lower than that. It did not work and sleep that night for all was not very restful. The carpets/flooring throughout both rooms and the rest of the building were dirty and stained. The beds were adequate and had clean linens. There were fresh towels in the bath. On a lighter note, the TV remote didn't work either. We had to operate the flat screen TV by using the controls on top.

Nice on the outside. Very smoky inside.Posted Jul 8, 2014
Best of the worst motels in area. Non smoking was a joke. Room supplied an ash tray. Blanket had cigarette holes and the sheets did not fit the bed and were worn thin.

Absolutely NOT recommendedPosted Jul 7, 2014
Even it says clearly non-smoking room in my Expedia booking, my family been assigned a smoking room, I can tell by the very strong smell when open the door, and the ashtray was on the table. asked the stuff for another room, answer was no room available. Next day when we came back to the room, the room was not been cleaned. this was the very first experience in my last 20 years travel. I did not put "do not disturb" sign, and I knew cleaning stuff had visited the room, because the trash can in bathroom had been emptied, that it . all bath towel on the floor of the bathroom .... you name it. I'm not sure why this happened, I'm thinking maybe I did not put any tip on the table? I went to ask front desk, the lady only swapped bath towel for me, did not offer cleaning or anything else. the first morning breakfast was OK, the second breakfast was terrible.

If you've got another choice, use it.Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Not one thing.
Cons: Attitude of front desk, cleanliness of rooms AND facility (I don't think they vacummed the hallway once while we were there), oh and yes, PRICE.
Location: Powell Wyoming is a beautiful small town in northern Wyoming. They have a wonderful Homestead Museum and a fun, friendly downtown area.
We checked in and were told that their reservation information said "smoking" room desired. It was clearly marked on our Expedia paperwork that we requested "no smoking". The woman who checked us in didn't seem to care one bit what we had confirmed on our reservation - OR - that possibly she could accommodate us in some way. It was an attitude of "take it or leave it". There were apparently no other rooms available and since we had arrived for my husband's 50th high school reunion, and there are only so many choices in a small town, we reluctantly settled into the room It stunk to high heaven and after the end of the weekend I washed every single piece of clothing we had taken with us. The cleanliness of the room was very suspect. There were particles of things I couldn't figure out on the floor, hairspray on the top of the toilet and not cleaned, hair on the shower curtain. And only 2 bath towels. The housekeeper (male) asked us if we were going to need any service on the first morning and we looked at each other and said no (there was no reason to have this bunch interact with us any more than necessary), although we would like more towels and toilet paper. Those two requests only took 2 hours to complete. From what I can see, they keep all of the doors open in the rooms they are cleaning and as they finish, they close the doors. From a security standpoint, it's not good. Naturally, when we checked out the same woman who checked us in was quite friendly.
