Basic HotelPosted Nov 5, 2013
This is a basic hotel that is fine for 1 or 2 nights. It is an easy walk a few blocks from the train station.

Ibis Coimbra has a Great LocationPosted May 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was located in a very great area for doing a walking tour of Coimbra as I had planned. If going in May, be sure to check the university schedule, as I was there when there was a week long party going on (for the end of the school year) and music was played by the river from 10 pm until 6 am. The hotel is located directly across the river from the event. The event lasts one week. I was there for only one night and did go over and enjoy the event when it woke me up. I was jet lagged from a very long 24 hours of flight jumping, and was trying to sleep. Even with ear plugs, it would have been impossible! If you can't beat them, join them!

Cheap, comfortable hotelPosted Apr 5, 2013
Pros: It's cheap and centrally located
Cons: No wifi in rooms
Location: Easy walk to restaurants and university
Hotel was good. Secure parking for 6 euros, Beds were comfortable, showers were hot. Room was very small and No wifi in room which was annoying but for 45 euros can't really complain.

Great experience at IbisPosted Dec 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
You kind of know what to expect with an Ibis, have been using them off and on for few years now, I personally think they are getting better, the king size beds are so comfortable, it is probably the best bed we have slept on our trip. The rooms are small but compact with everything you need, the design of the room has been well thought out and as very happy with our stay here.

Good value for centrasl locationPosted Aug 8, 2012
Pros: the availablity of secure parking and its centrality
Location: Including advice about the one way street system would ease traveller anxieties
The hotel gets bonus points for its underground parking, and the highly visible signs for the Ibis at various locations away from the hotel which made finding it easier. It is central to the old city, staff were helpful in their advice. Its what one expects from an Ibis

Basic hotel but ideal locationPosted Oct 20, 2011
Location: The main part of the city centre is amazing, the buildings and streets are beautiful. There are plenty of cafe's to sit and watch the world go by, all tucked away in little squares. The botanical gardens are fantastic, also the university is worth a look, but its at the top of the hill, which is a bit of a trek. At the side of the river, just down from the hotel, is a fantastic range of restaurants and bars, a little more expensive than the city centre, but the view over the river is lovely.
The hotel is easy to find (just down the road from Coimbra A train station). The location is ideal, opposite the park and river, which are beautiful. It is located in the better end of the city, felt very safe. It is very close to the centre, around 5 minutes walk. The hotel room was basic, and a little cramped, but great for just sleeping and getting ready. The noise of the road is an issue if you have the window open in your room. The air conditioning works, but it is not great. The staff were friendly enough, not very helpful when it came to advice on what to see and do. Also, each day we had to ask for an extra towel as they only left one clean one between two of us. Apart from that, I have no major complaints. The room was cleaned every day, and our personal possessions were not even touched or moved, which was good. Overall, a great place to stay.

This chain hotel was clean and comfortable, located across the street from a riverside park, and withinin walking distance of a Tourist Information office as well as the Largo de Portagem, the main street leading to the Santa Cruz Cathedral and sidestreets winding up to the University.
