“Not as bad as other reviews indicated”

We reserved this room through a blind bargain deal and did not see the reviews until after we had made the non-refundable purchase. I was fairly freaked out by the reviews, many of which were extremely negative, so we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was better than that. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable. We did not pay extra to get the pillow-top mattress and flat screen TV but still found the room perfectly acceptable -- and we stay in a lot of hotels and have fairly high standards. The room was clean, contrary to the experience reported by others. The front desk person was extremely helpful. The free breakfast was not a couple of pieces of bread as some said. There was cold cereal, hot cereal, fresh fruit, pastries, toast, muffins, juice, coffee, tea. The motel has good soundproofing. Two softball teams were in the motel and we did not hear them. The wi-fi worked. The motel does have some serious exterior maintenance issues and does not make a good first impression. The ice machine wasn't working and was in a filthy room. The sign had wind damage. That sort of thing. One reviewer said the motel was difficult to find and was not located near I-70. That's not accurate. The motel is a block from I-70, but it's near the more western of the two exits. For what we paid, the motel was very acceptable. I wouldn't have wanted to pay more, but options along I-70 are limited during the summer if you don't reserve at least a week out.

“Don't stay here!!!!!!!!!!!”

First of all, it was very difficult finding the hotel. Just by looking at the exterior, I would not have stayed if I hadn't prepaid for the room. When I opened the door to my room, I could not believe the old fashioned decor since Expedia rated this room as a 2 star. The room was not clean - I did not remove my shoes except to get in the shower since the carpet was stained and the bathroom floors were not clean. The beds were very uncomfortable and the mattresses were very old. The sheets did not fit and kept coming off the mattress. The supposedly complimentary breakfast showed plain bread that you could toast and coffee. Needless to say; we didn't bother having breakfast at the hotel but did find a great cafe called "Hank's" that served a great breakfast.
