“Would stay here again”

This was a really nice hotel. We actually stayed at the "Down Town Marriott" in Des Moines the next night. My wife an I agreed to cut the stay at the Marriott from 3 nights to 1 and return to the Colfax Inn. Yes our decision was financially motivated, but we would not have returned if the Colfax Inn wasn't a nice place to stay!

“Surprisingly nice considering the price”

Pleasant staff, nice room, reasonable price. The only complaint is the driveway leading to the hotel which is a gravel road with big holes. Otherwise a very pleasant stay and will definitely go back if I am passing through the area.

This was a nice hotel with indoor pool. The room was nice and big and the workers were very friendly and helpful.

“Passing Through Iowa”

The hotel is nice, decent breakfast, and great price for the room. Only downsides are that the hot tub did not work (and there was no timetable when it would be fixed) and there was a smell of smoke in the halls and a little bit in the room even though they were non-smoking rooms. The staff is very friendly and the price made it well worth it.

“Clean, quiet and friendly”

I was greeted at the front desk by a woman with a big smile and a nice hello. After checking in she explained to me some local establishments for eating and entertainment. It was just a very nice way to start our stay. At check out again I was greeted by a smile and a "good morning". Asked how everything was and if I got enough to eat at breakfast. Everyone was very freindly and it was a pleasant stay.

Very convenient and excellent location for travelers on I-80.
