Worst hotel ever

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
The lady, Heather, working the front desk was lazy and rude. She gave us keys for our room. When we got in, it was still a mess from the previous guests. When we went back down, I told her she put is in a dirty room. Her response was, "Well I don't have any clean king rooms." I told her I would just like a clean room. The pool, hot tub and ice machine were all out of order. The continental "hot" breakfast consisted of cereal or waffles. We had cold showers in the morning and the air conditioner was on all night and still could not keep the room cool. The temp outside was in the 60's. This is by far the WORST hotel experience I have ever had and I like cheap hotels for the most part. Never again.

Floor sticky. Pool & Hot Tub not working.

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: Iowa Speedway, Adventureland
The bedroom floor felt sticky. I had to wear shoes. The pool and hot tub were not working. It should have been posted to the website. Trash was everywhere outside the door. They couldn't change the trash bags and pick up the trash. Luckily we only stayed for one night. Breakfast was disappointing as well. Would not stay again.

Clean hotel, near the interstate.

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: That it was close to a McDonald's and a place that sold cold beer.
Cons: Open the pool. Have the soda machine and the ice machine in the same place, rather than at opposite ends of the hallway. Get the elevator working.
The hotel was satisfactory on a basic level, i.e. the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. However, the pool facilities were closed and the breakfast was several points below basic. I stayed here four years ago and thought it was quite nice. Something has changed. The elevator was not working, which was not a problem for us but certainly could be for others. All in all, a lot of deferred/neglected maintenance.

Never again

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Got there after 8:00, in bed and husband hears someone using a key trying to get into room. A couple had the same room! Traveled many years and never had that happen! Did little for our sleep. Strange situation and never heard from the management.

We had a nice stay. It was close to the expressway. No unexpected surprises, you get what you pay for.

Terribly let down!

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Only 2 things I can say I liked were location and the beds were comfy.
Cons: Hire adequate staff that care and live up to the standard that you portray in your ads.
I could NEVER recommend this place! The pool was "out of order", our room smelled like an arm-pit and the t.v. pic was so dark it was hard to see. Breakfast had nothing hot, not even the coffee, whick I believe must have been instant. I had to ask that the milk for cereal (in a pitcher) could be replaced with fresh milk as it was sour and the pitcher was filthy with white residue. I was embarrassed to have booked this place for my kids and grandkids. I have paid the same amount of money and been so much happier in other places. Now I know NOT to deal with this one again. Please don't bring your family here.

Close to Newton for the races.

Pros: Easy access to I80. Gas and food right across the street.
Cons: Better breakfast preparation. You know how many rooms you've booked.
Location: Great location to Iowa Speedway.
Nothing special, but a place to get a good nights sleep, which we did. The breakfast was lame and picked over before we could get down there. They were out of most everything, which wasn't much to begin with, so don't choose based on there being a free breakfast. The room was clean but again nothing special. For a no frills stay, it fits the bill.

Not bad

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Manager needs to clarify cancellation policy to staff better, miss communication on how much if any if I cancelled when checking in due to no pool
Location: Love that des Moines is so close, Adventure Land, Bass Pro Shop, Zoo
Pool was under construction when we stayed , front desk person very polite and did the best he could to help. Breakfast was good. Room comfortable. Shower needs a little more attention due to we found old bars of soap on top of shower....It was nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room with out having to ask. not to bad.

Pool is closed. Breakfast is below average. Rooms need updating. Some of the staff is good, others awful. Would not have stayed if the room weren't prepaid through expedia.
