We love Zar ColimaPosted Aug 26, 2014
We just finished our 2nd stay at Zar Colima in 6 months. The rooms have great personalized air conditioners (a must for Colima, Mx) and for $35 USD a night, you can't really beat it. The continental breakfast consists only of 2 pieces of toast, juice and coffee (FYI), and they will make you other things at extra costs, but I would just skip it and find a taco stand in town. Even though we had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on our door, a maid tried to enter when she thought we had left. So, make sure you hide or take your valuables with you when you go. We have never had anything taken or tampered with at ZAR, but you never know... The rooms are very clean, except for a baseboard corner, here or there. Some rooms have microwaves and small refrigerators, although ours did not. You must have to request them... Zar is right on the edge of town, near the interstate and airport and we will soon be back!

Nice location of hotel.Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Clean and quiet.
Cons: The bed was too hard.
Location: The down town area was close, the beach is not too far.
Great location, friendly staff, the manager was very helpfull. We really liked the cook.. Need to add some meat items to the menue and fresh juices. Every one was very nice and friendly. We relly liked the landscaping around the hotel.

We are from the United States and now always stay at the Zar when we are in Colima. The management and staff are wonderful and always help us in any way they can. They address any issues with promptness and courtesy. It is like having a second family away from home. We have stayed at every major hotel in Colima and for value, convienence, and quality there is no better hotel in Colima than the Zar. Thank you to every one at the Zar who makes us feel so welcome.

Beautiful hotel but out of the wayPosted Dec 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
If you were travelling by car it is a great place to stay..We loved the hotel, the staff were great and we loved the pool and garden area. .we only spent 2 nights and we would have been much happier if we were in central Colima as we didn't have easy access to restaurants unless we took a taxi to central Colima. It was not too far by taxi but just inconvenient.

Wasn't able to check in, booking didn't show upPosted Nov 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
I try to check in and at the time of my showing up at the hotel they said they didn't have a reservation for me. I went and find a different hotel, and email hotels.com. They refund my money.

Great hotel for the price, continental breakfast was meager but paying a little extra for a full breakfast is worth it
