A Perfect StayPosted Jan 2, 2014
Cons: Cannot think of a thing.
Location: Rural location. Larger town of Compobasso is about 20 minutes away.
This was our first trip to Italy. Went to Colle d' Anchise to visit the village where my parents were born. We stayed at La Piana dei Mulini and loved every single thing about it. Meticulously maintained, simple but very beautiful. The rooms, while modest, were spotless and comfy. We enjoyed some very fine food and wonderful service. Breakfast was delightful with a basket of freshly homemade pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit. Best of all was the personal attention and service from everyone at La Piana. Each one went out of their way to make our stay perfect, to make us feel at home. I can recommend La Piana without hesitation, so if you find yourself in the Italian countryside and need a place to spend the night or somewhere to get the most wonderful meal La Piana would be a perfect choice.

A perfect placePosted Dec 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything about our stay was perfection. La Piana dei Mullini looks like something from a movie. Just what you think the Italian countryside should look like. Rooms were small but meticulously clean and fresh. The food was delicious, especially the veal steak. Complimentary breakfast of freshly homemade pastries, yogurt and fresh fruit. The staff took good care of us and absolutely went out of their way for us. It was a lovely stay.

Review regarding this wonderful hotel.Posted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: Its Charm, and age that reflects the history of this valley with a little of today for comfort. The food at the restaurant is traditional.
Cons: It is being improved, give them time. The location is polished but the owner will work to add something I am sure.
Location: Sit with a cigar, drink local wine, and let your senses take in the valley, the area abounds in beauty. This is not downtown New York, its a village.
This is a hidden charm of a location. Certainly not the Hilton or brand name location but just a beautiful old combination Mill and Horse Stables. Yes, this once once at least 100-years ago a mill that controlled the flow of water, as well as a private stables for a horse farm. The facility is still original but changes made for it to serve as a small hotel and wonderful and charming restaurant. Located outside of Bojano, Italy near small villages that date back over 200-years. We ventured here to visit the area my grandfather was born in around 1904 and found this hotel and chose it to stay the night. There are only a few rooms at the Inn and allow for a handful of guests to spead the night. The grounds are in a valley of green lush grass surrounded by beautiful scenery. The restaurant is the pride of the owner and serves great food. No room service or gift shop here. This is just a place to stay if you visit this charming area. The staff are great and work to make your stay perfect. Don't expect all kinds of standard amenities as this should be classified as a truly out of the way hotel and restaurant. No bell service and the rooms are above the old mill and are just great. They don't have A/C but your here for your eyes to absorb the beauty of this location.

Absolutely delightful!Posted Jul 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
My husband and I travel to Campobasso, Italy annually. We usually stay at the same hotel in the city every year. This year however, I wanted a change. I decided to do some internet searching regarding hotels in the area and came across, "La Piana Dei Mulini" in Colle D'Anchise, just outside Campobasso. I did further research on this hotel and read the reviews, all of which were favorable. So, I decided to book a room for 7 nights. This hotel was absolutely amazing in so many ways. The hotel grounds were stunning and beautiful, very clean and full of character. The stonework, style, structure, and decor of the hotel truly made you feel like you were living in Italy. The restaurant was beyond what we expected. We were asked what we wanted for breakfast every morning. The variety of pastries, jams, cheeses, salamis, and fresh fruit was overwhelming. We were pretty much given whatever we wanted. The service was just impeccable! In fact, the owner of the hotel, Michelle, made every effort on a daily basis to make sure we were happy and satisfied. All I can say is that our stay at La Piana Dei Mulini was an absolute pleasure! We cannot wait to return...
