Pros: Location, the layout, the view
Cons: Bar could made more warm lounge like and a better and more expanded selection of alcohol.
I had a great view of the waterfront. The room has quite a few amenities and a unique furniture style. I like the vibrant colors. It gave the room a more exciting feeling.

Trendy, good views, poor food quality and service

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: style, room size, views, location. the suite we stayed in was good for my wife and I and our 9-year old son for whom we made a makeshif sofa-bed
Cons: customer service and food quality
Location: Cspital Wheel, shopping, restaurants, convenient to drive to Old Town Alexandria and Tanger Outlets (5 minutes)
We stayed in room 817, the corner suite (northwest) on the top floor of the hotel, which is the best room. It has an excellent view of the Potomac, Wilson Bridge, Capital Wheel, even the Washington Monument in the distance on a clear day. The room itself was fine and comfortable, except for some evidence of maintenance needed (sliding door to bathroom needed service, one lamp lightbulb was burned out, and one window blind was frayed and out of its track, for example). The primary disappointment was the absolute terrible quality of the food at breakfast. The Belgian waffle was hard and tasteless. And the breakfast egg, cheese and bacon sandwich was worse than a frozen Jimmy Dean item from the grocery store. We stayed over Christmas 2014. When I came down to the lobby at 10:30 a.m. of breakfast, there was none, and even the coffee, which is free and decent, had been taken away because it was after 10:00 a.m. (!) I asked the receptionist nearby who handles sales of food and beverage items from the commissary. She would only say that it was too late for coffee as it had been cleared at 10:00 a.m. I asked if I could get coffee, please, even if I had to pay for it. She said no, it's taken away at 10:00 a.m. I said, "even on Christmas morning?!" She said yes and made no accommodation to help. (!) Of course nothing nearby was open and no other food was available. Unbelievable! The right answer would have been, "sorry we put it away, but I'll go brew another pot."

Very Nice Hotel In the Heart of all the action

Posted Dec 30, 2014
The Hotel was really Nice, It is in the heart of everything in National Harbor, I like the fact that we had free wifi, most hotels make you pay for every little thing but that was a plus for us, overall our stay was good, I would definitely stay here again

National Harbor Christmas

Posted Dec 23, 2014
At check-in they did not have the rooms types we reserved. We needed 2 rooms each with 2 queen beds. We were told that since we booked through you are room types were not guaranteed. We ended up with one of the rooms having to be a king bed.Not what we wanted and not what we needed. One of the rooms was on the 2nd floor next to the bar. There was a party going that night and it was very loud. Called the front desk and asked to be moved. They said sorry we can't,it will be over by 2am. Not what we wanted to hear. Needless to say we were very tired the next morning. When we complained at check-out the desk clerk said the manager would call us. 2 days later we still haven't heard from the manager .

close to harbor and everything else

Pros: The shower had a nice showerhead and I liked all of the unique furniture and features and decorations. Also, the hotel is close to everything
Cons: Room cleanliness, or maybe freshness
our room had a funky smell to it, like sweat, but it went away after we turned the ac on

Thermostat set on 60 when we arrived on a cold day and the toilet seat was up. Staff should always CHECK ROOM TO SEE IF A GUEST WENT BACK AFTER THE ROOM WAS CLEANED. Rookie mistake. Plus a large red wine stain in middle of carpet looked like a prop from CSI. Horel has had a rough life for being somewhat new. Ready for its 10-year remodel already. Blow the extra fifty bucks and nab a room at the waterfront western. Fewer self-important hipsters and better rooms.

Great price!

We had a great stay and the staff was very helpful. The only thing that was not as comfortable was the pool. The heaters only worked on the deeper end and half the lights worked inside. Other than that, everything was great. Could have also had a free continental breakfast.

Centrally located

Concierge extremely helpful. Moderate cost. Walking distance to all area attractions. View from back not so good. Self parking with in/out privileges for a daily fee.
