Pleasant Hotel for Short VisitPosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: Convenience of location, well maintained, and friendly staff.
Cons: Additional handicapped parking seems to be needed.
Location: Location was convenient to relatives, church of wedding, as well as the Metro, and all attractions in the area, including Washington DC.
A friend and I recently stayed at the Clarion for 3 nights to attend a family wedding. We found the property and room clean, staff pleasant and housekeeping fine. We asked for extra towels then told the housekeeper we would like our room left alone as we prefer to keep our own level of messiness in order. They complied with out request. We did not eat at the hotel.

I booked a business king which comes with a refrig/microwave. The desk clerk was not courteous but the client before me she was very accommodating with info . I was given our key cards and upon entering our room there was a musty odor and carpet was filthy with 3 large stains located in different parts of the room. There was no refig or microwave in the room. I called the front desk and informed her again I paid for a business king and I was to have refrig /microwave but there not one in the room she said that not all rooms came with that I told her bus. king does. She told me she would call maintenance and have them bring it up ;I informed her my carpet was filthy and I was not happy with this room and I would like to speak to a manager or refund my money. I spoke to the manager and she stated she would come up and check out another room and I asked if I could see it also. When she came on elevator she went down to the room and I followed and upon walking into room a breathe of fresh air and clean business king with the amenities I expected . She could our card keys and went down and exchanged for the room we were in and took the luggage carrier back down. The ice machine was out of order during our entire stay. the pool open at 6pm -10pm that was very misleading. I was disappointed with the front desk staff. The next morning front desk staff were very knowledgeable and accomodating .

Hotel itself was not bad.Posted Jul 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel itself was pretty good, but the housekeeping services was not. I could tell the floor was not vacuumed, the toilet did not appeared to be wiped down, and the base of the toilet had droppings of urine on it the first day I checked in. The pool hours were to short (6pm til 10pm). Family was very unhappy about that. The neighborhood 2 blocks up was very distasteful (glad it was a few block away from the hotel).

Quality , comfort and close to National HarborPosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
I personally found the room comfortable and clean. The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced. The restaurant personnel was extremely friendly. The neighborhood is not great but it looks like it is on the rise with MGM building a casino nearby. Told it would not be safe to walk to National Harbor - but it's only a very short cab ride away. I would have liked a shuttle service from the hotel to National Harbor where our conference was held and where most conferences are held. No frig or microwave in room, but available upon request. I did not require either. Hairdryer in room - a big plus. Pop machine on floor but not a snack machine ( slight bummer).

Mixed reviewPosted Jul 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room seemed like it was recently remodeled. Bed was very nice and comfortable. Room was large and updated and had an upscale feel. On the other hand, lobby was somewhat dirty, wall paper peeling and lots of thuggish people hanging out. Sunday was a large church convention that took over the lobby again. If I only rated the room, I give it a 5. Lobby area left a lot to be desired. Did not have the same feel.
