“Great cheap motel in the DC area”
I stayed at this motel for two nights while visiting Washington DC (like, the Capitol and the National Air and Space Museum). It might not be the nicest of places to stay but it is cheap considered it is close to the center. The nearest Metro station is two miles away on the other side of the freeway and gives you a trouble free ride right into the center. I did not have breakfast there so I can't comment on that. there are no vending machines, just ice. the appearance of the motel and lounge could be nicer but the rooms are very clean and comfortable. overall, if you look for a cheap room to spend the night near washington, I'd recommend this.
“Not as bad as everyone says!”
Having never been to Washington DC, I read some of the reviews of the Camp Springs Days Inn. After reading them I thought that I would need to bring body guards. Now I don't recommend not locking your car or room doors, but this area is NOT that bad! The hotel itself is older but taken care of adequately. It is located close to Andrews AFB, I495 & I95, the metro (bus & train) and plenty of restaurants within a few miles. The sirens that other reviews mentioned are ambulances as there is a hospital near-by. We were there for 3 days and heard approx 7 sirens... There are road construction workers that seemed to be on an extended stay but they didn't bother anyone and were respectful!
“Worth Discount!!”
Stayed two nights at discounted rate...but they would not extend discounted rate....so we moved to better hotel.......this hotel was safe, had great parking, had free hassle-free internet....shopping nearby was very convenient...found great thrift store...was referred to a great restaurant (Yanny's), add-ons to agreed on price were a little offensive,,,,,,,they shot the golden goose...we would have stayed 6 more days......jp
“Clean and quiet”
Recommend complementary coffee service be provided in each room.
“It was a nice hotel”
The room was very clean but the air conditoner was old and outdated and needs to be replaced and in the summer time might be quite warm in the room.
“and okay getaway”
They where in need of a good clean up of there rooms it was a nice room just spider webs and a strong smell of smoke in the room.
“A little rowdy on Friday night”
Overall, the hotel was nice, however, there was a lot of activity outside on Friday night, with "kids" running past our room until very late. When we checked out on Sunday, we had to step over broken beer bottles in the stairway. Our room was well kept and comfortable, however getting to and from it was a little bit "scary".
“Acceptable but not great”
To access downtown, take the bus in front of the hotel to the subway station (Branch Avenue) and then take the subway to downtown.
“If low price, clean room & convenient to Andrew's are your priorities it's a good value”
The room was very clean although it did have a strong musty room odor . It has motel style room entrances, directly to parking lot or walk-way. I prefer the security, noise reduction and privacy of inside-access hotel rooms and missed this in the photos. Although, no loud guest encounters or security issues over a Thursday/Friday stay. Very close to Andrews Joint Base which was the primary need but also easy access to DC and much more affordable then many options in the area! Breakfast was adquate and as noted previously, lots of carbs. The front desk staff leave a lot to be desired with regard to customer friendliness and courtesy. However, if budget, cleaniness and convenience to DC and Andrews are key factors for a couple night stay, I founds this a satisfactory option.
“It was not expected”
There were no internet access in the room although it was said there is wireless access. I have asked them to check this for me 2 times and each I was told that someone is coming to room ro solve my problem but no one came.
