5 day stay with grand kids

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Close proximity to the train. Excellent staff. Very good breakfast. Pool size worked well for our grandchildren.
Cons: The sofa bed was not comfortable. Pool opening at 4 p.m. during the week. We would have liked to be able to use it at 9 to 10 a.m. Noise from hall
Location: Our son lived in Tacoma Park, which was only a ten to 15 mile drive. The train was close and we used it 2 days to go into D.C.
The hotel staff was excellent. Very helpful. Our group consisted of 2 kids, 4 and 8 years old, and 3 adults. The kids loved the pool, which we used 4 of the 5 days we stayed. The pool attendants were very good. The hotel is only a few blocks from the train. The breakfast was very good. We were apprehensive about valet parking, but it worked out well. Our car was always available within 10 to 15 minutes. We had a king size bed and sofa that pulled out for a bed. The king size bed was very comfortable, but the sofa was not. We took the mattress off and placed it in the far corner away from the door, and my daughter and one grandchild slept on it. We moved it to the corner because Friday and Saturday night we experienced a lot of talking in the hallway outside our door. Everything would have been a lot better if we had 2 queen beds, but those rooms were sold out, so we managed. We didn't use the small kitchen much but it was nice.

Doppelhotel in einem Gebäude

Posted Jun 20, 2015

Dinner?

Posted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: Proximity to downtown, included meals, exercise facilities
Cons: meals...the oatmeal was WAY too mushy (try upgrading to steel-cut), also have some vegetarian options!
Location: Good location to all downtown Silver Spring.
I was shocked when I check in and was informed that dinner (as well as breakfast) was included with my stay. Guess I didn't need the full kitchen in my suite! It was the cheapest place I could find when I was booking my room and cut down on my costs not having to eat out. Of course, the food wasn't that great, but it did include free beer/wine! The workout room was fine and the pool and nice touch after the workout.

Adequate

Posted Apr 27, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel was situated north of DC where many of my meetings were scheduled. The hotel was about .5 miles from the metro, but the walk was downhill. The one thing about Silver spring is the traffic is heavy and the intersections were wide and the walk lights were short. I would not ride a bike in this traffic.

Super Nice!

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Just spent four nights there and couldn't have been happier. We had a suite with a king bed, sleeper sofa and rollaway and still had a ton of space in the room. Everything was super clean and super comfortable. Staff couldn't have been nicer. It was a short walk to the Metro and lots of shops and restaurants around. I'd definitely stay there again.

Good place to stay in Silver Spring

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Easy walking distance to shopping, groceries, restaurants and metro. Staff, especially parking valets, were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Most of the front desk staff were excellent, but a couple did not seem very knowledgeable about the hotel or the area. Refrigerator was hard to open.
Location: Nice neighborhood with plenty of shopping for anything we needed during our trip. Also a nice park nearby when we just wanted to go for a walk.
We were stayed for a week to visit our kids and new grandbaby. It was easy to get anywhere we were going whether walking, driving or taking the Metro. This includes Holy Cross hospital where the baby was born and the kids apartment on Cameron Street. To visit DC, it was an easy 3 block walk to the Metro.

Exelente!! Great location

Very surprised by the quality of the hotel considering that the rate was cheap. It was very clean and no smells. Overall the hotel left a good impression, would have been nice to stay longer
