“Worth every penny”

Had 2 rooms for my husband and I and my daughters family for just one night. Wasn't expecting much just a place to crash for the night. Perfect location for visiting the Aggie campus. Hotel had been overbooked but the desk had saved our rooms since we needed 2 and we arrived at midnight! Very clean public areas and the rooms were also. Bedding was great! Bathroom was clean and modern. Great TV with plenty of channel service. Too cold to use the pool but looked nice and clean. Friendly staff. Would definitely use this hotel again!

The hotel looks new, the room was spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

“Sleepless in College Station”

Our AC wasn't working. When I called the Front Desk, I was kindly told to wait a minute as it was motion-controlled. Thirty sweaty minutes later, I called the desk AGAIN. They send a repair man. Sure enough, the thermostat was broken so he reconnected the wall unit which sounded like a slamming door as it kicked-on ALL NIGHT LONG! Needless to say, we were not at all rested the next day, despite our very comfortable bed.

“Hotel Management needs lots of improvement...”

The Hotel is beautiful, but service wasn't all that. Serious plumbing problems. Toilets didn't flush correctly. Nasty shower - yellow water (maybe urine) backed up into shower from drain. I stayed in Room 121. For breakfast, we tried the dining restaurant. It took 1 hour to get our food. Only 10 tables were occupied. Our order apparently got lost. Waiter asked 30 minutes after we ordered if we got our food. You would think that he would know that seeing that our table was empty and that he would of delivered the food. We were given a 10% discount... Really... They should of compt the entire meal. Hope they get things straight...

“Not impressed”

The room, while comfortable, had an odor which we could not find. I sprayed with an air deodorizer and never got the smell removed. Our breakfast was cold and I ended up having cereal instead of pancakes and eggs. The second day, we went out for breakfast at a fastfood place.

“Clean, pleasant, terrible sound proofing”

Our room was clean and comfortable, if a little poorly designed (there was no light near the full length mirror). However, our room had a door that it shared with the adjoining room and unfortunately our next door neighbor was EXTREMELY loud. Screaming and cursing into his phone, vomiting (!!!!) late at night, having bathroom trouble at 6am- we could hear it ALL. We understood that the hotel can't do much about situations like that- the man sounded so unhinged we didn't want them to tell him to keep it down (we've seen 'Barton Fink'). But when we complained at check out we were not offered any compensation for our crappy night of sleep. We let it go, but if I had been traveling with children I would have been a lot more outraged about having to listen to the guy next door curse and make death threats all night!

“Will never go back”

I was trying to control business expenses and originally booked a room at a different motel (Expedia won't let me tell you which one). I didn't expect much, but based on the comments was expecting a spartan, but clean room. I was wrong. The first motel was a dirty mess and my room smelled like some sort of solvent. The fumes nearly killed me, so a helpful Expedia agent helped me switch to the Clarion. I walked ~ 2mi to the Clarion with high hopes. The lobby looked ok, but my room turned out to be a disaster. It smelled like a combination of feces, vomit and urine. The room was well worn to say the least. I asked to switch to a different room. It smelled marginally better - but had to deal with noise from room next door. I do not recommend the Clarion - or any other motel in the same price range in College Station. There appear to be newer motels in town - spend the extra money, you definitely get what you pay for in this little college town.
