a big dissappointment

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: new management and employee training and maybe a housekeeper that was not a man in his 80's
reserved smoking none available, staff eating at front desk and unkept. lights in room unplugged some did not work, toilet kept stopping up. We usually try to stay at Days Inn when we travel, this is the first time we have ahd a BAD EXPERIENCE but it was a bad one.

I don't know if they were going to remodel or the place was falling apart because base boards were noticably absent and some walls were bare. The room could have been cleaned a little better. The shower was dirty, both comforters and blankets underneath were stained, mirror was sloppily wiped off (streaks and fingerprints).

Hotel is clean but is need of repair

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: The hotel is quite and access to the interstate is easy
Cons: I think if the water damage was repaired and give more breakfast choices that would be a big improvement
Location: The hotel is about 5min to restaurants, drug stores, department store. St Louis zoo, Gateway Arch, and shopping are about 20min depending on traffic
This hotel is in need of repair. I was told the swimming pool was removed because of a leak, but the damage was never repaired The hallways still have bare sheetrock. The room was clean and smelled clean, the beds were comfortable but the wall paper was peeling away from the wall. The reception on the tv was not the best.. I probably wont stay here again but if you dont mind the cosmetic problems of this hotel it is probably worth the amount charged, it is quite and access to the interstate is easy

A weekend in Southern Illinois

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Very affordable. Next to I-64. Close to retail shopping, restaurants, movie theatres, gas stations.
Cons: Fix the plumbing. Get rid of the bad smells. Improve the free breakfast (more variety of baked items and fresh fruits).
Location: St. Clair Square mall. Two multiplex movie theaters. Easy access to I-64 and onto St. Louis. Downtown Belleville, IL has upscale bars & dining.
1. No hot water in the sink. I informed the front desk, but I guess they couldn't get a maintenance person to attend to it over the weekend. 2. The third floor hallway has a bad smell - old and musty. 3. My room had two refrigerators, where one was inoperable and served only to be a platform for the microwave oven. 4. Motel and hotel rooms must offer more electrical outlets. We travelers come equipped with more mobile electronics these days (laptops, phones, tablets, etc. that all need charging). The room uses most of the available outlets for the TV, microwave oven, refrigerator and the lamps. The outlet that was free was located in an inconvenient spot. 5. This Days Inn does not typically impress with its free breakfast, but back in April 2014, there were bagels & cream cheese and pre-packaged Danishes and muffins. On this trip in July, the only bakery items were sliced white bread and raisin bread.

O.K. For the price.

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Closeness to shopping and food outlets and interstate.
Cons: The rooms do not look anything like the pictures on the internet. The hotel is clearly in need of renovations.
Location: The location is great. It is close to everything. Every type of food outlet is within 5 minutes.
It is close to all of the shopping and food outlets. However, it is a bit rundown and needs some renovations.

Having stayed at many super 8 motels these past 2 weeks, I am very disappointed in this one. Everywhere I looked there were signs of neglect.
