“Good deal for those on budget”
I picked this hotel due price, location and free wifi. Not being familiar with the area, the location ended up being on the "wrong side of the tracks" and on the fringes of the city center. However, I always felt safe and we ended up purchasing day passes on the U-bahn to get into the city so it worked out. The hotel is right next to an active track and although it was muffled in our room I wonder what rooms weren't so lucky. Overall, it gave us what we needed at a price we could afford.
“Hotel was good, but area was poor”
The Hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. We found the Hotel a little bit hard to find due to the signage being hidden behind trees. Travellers should be very wary of the area. We caught the train into the City Centre and we were pick pocketed and lost a considerable amount of money and our Credit Cards. The police were very helpful.
“Value for money”
The hotel staff were extremely helpful. I had a problem with our rented car (Avis) and the staff actually took care of it all, called Avis and coordinated a replacement. All in all our stay was pleasant. My only comment would be the dinner at the hotel restaurant, very expensive and far from tasty.
“Cologne - not far from the old town.”
Not four stars - but a good three. Very helpful staff. Room was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. This is in the Kalk district of Koln. Ten minute walk to some nice restaurants and the Sunner brewery and beer garden. Also to the U-Bahn to get to the center city. (Make sure you have Euro coins to get in.) Taxi to the center of Koln will cost you about 15 Euro each way. It is very near the rail line and you can hear the trains if you open the window. Trains sound more like jets passing near an airport rather than the clickety-clack. Didn't bother us too much. Generally a very pleasant stay.
